The city at night is a jungle. The constant battles. The constant pressures. The challenges, the environment, the elements. The need to adapt, the need to face your fears, the need to take one step be ready for the next. Stay hidden. Stay visible. Embrace the jungle and keep going.
Have you ever done indoor skydiving on a ship? Or have you ever used high speed internet in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean? No, wait, have you ever been served a drink by a robot? Your answer to all of these is probably no. Well, it’s definitely no, unless you were on board Royal Caribbean‘s brand new futuristic cruise ship Quantum of the Seas with Dan and I back in October. The lovely people at Royal Caribbean invited us to experience their new ship, that will completely transform the way we view cruises, forever. There’s setting the bar high, then there’s this. A change in perception. A change in the industry. This was our first experience on board a cruise ship, and boy did we have a blast. Read on to see what we got up to, and whether Royal Caribbean have given us a fresh perspective on cruises.
Everybody has story to tell, authentic moments that deserve to be shared with audiences of one to a hundred and more. As Yin & Yang has evolved, storytelling has become the end goal for everything we produce. We recently hit our 5-year anniversary and what a journey it has been so far. While some of us are starting to show our age (Yin getting married and so on), we’re showing no signs of slowing down. In line with our story, and their own, legendary Kentucky bourbon brand Jim Beam asked us to showcase what #MakeHistory means to us. A brand dating over 200 years, they’ve made quite a history by staying true to themselves, being bold and adapting over time. This sounded all too familiar for us, so we thought we’d take a look at making history from our angle. Read on to see our journey.
Problem: two guys in need of a short getaway and an urge to take some photos in unknown territory. Answer: Berlin. A city rich in history, art, culture, food, clubs and the capital of a nation with a mighty good football team. I had been itching to explore Berlin for quite some time. I wanted longer than two days (and later discovered I needed longer than two days), but Aaron and I decided to venture to Berlin for a weekend to take it all in, have a drink (or twelve) and enjoy a weekend out of our comfort zone. Glad to say we accomplished all of the above with a stay made even more pleasant by the brilliant Generator Hostels. Despite my usual complaints (about everything possible), and not having enough time to do anywhere near as much as we would have liked, Berlin was amazing. Check out some snaps, read our thoughts, and press play below to enjoy our documentation of 48 hours in Berlin.
Living life in one of the greatest cities the world has to offer is something we take for granted far too often. It can also be argued however that us busy Londoners don’t take the time to explore the amazing countryside that the UK has to offer. Exploring the great British outdoors has been on the Y&Y agenda for a while now, and we took the opportunity to tick it off (to an extent) when Premier Inn asked us to explore the Lincolnshire countryside and offer one of our lucky readers the chance to win a weekend getaway for two. Read on to see the amazing weekend Adam and Derek had when they packed their bags and escaped the city.
Being in such a beautiful city has its perks, don’t get me wrong, but too often when visiting these places full of historic landmarks we forget to bring our eyes back to ground level and look at the happenings around us. Being in a new place is not just about seeing new sights, but about embracing and observing the differences occurring around you. I had recent trip to Paris courtesy of Lacoste and, instead of putting my focus on the popular landmarks, I people watched. Read on.
