i-D take us behind the scenes of the shoot for their latest campaign in collaboration with Microsoft as they launch their HP Spectre x360 laptop. It features make-up artist Ralph Siciliano, directors Santiao & Mauricio and models as they produce a “beautiful” collaboration paying homage to the subcultures of the decades gone by – all made possible by Microsoft as they lend their efforts by kitting out the set with top of the range gear. It’s always nice seeing the end results of a project but sometimes it’s nicer seeing the process involved and how everyone worked together to get there. Find yourself onset of i-D and Microsoft’s beautiful collaboration which features the HP Spectre x360 in action, the actual film drops next week.

Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style was one of my top 5 games on the Playstation. I played it for hours upon end growing up. If you’re not familiar, it’s a fighting game with the members of legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. I had a go-to character like you always do in these games, and it was a guy in a hoodie with a boxing style of fighting. That guy was Raekwon, probably the most successful (and arguably the most talented) member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx was a regular playthrough on my iPod and I, like many others, saw Raekwon as a legend in the world of hip-hop. You can imagine, then, my reaction when I got invited to meet him and ask him about his new album. I bounced around in excitement until the moment I walked in to the room. It was a brief chat, and there was so much more I wanted to ask him, but read on to see the Chef’s thoughts on his new album F.I.L.A.

Now, this is pretty awesome. Clemens Wirth, a director and visual artist from Austria, has created this beautifully fascinating short film experimenting with gravity and a variety of objects and materials. A simple idea that creates visuals you can’t take your eyes off. By simply rotating the rig 360 degrees, Clemens was able to create wonderful practical effects and behaviours from the subjects. A brilliant example of creating art from motion, all while keeping the camera completely still. Check out the video after the cut.

These are brilliant. SpaceX, an American aero-space manufacturer and transport company, has just released these awesome vintage-inspired Mars travel posters. With the posters depicting - and showing off - various parts of the planet that we have discovered (and named), they make travelling to Mars a thing of the present time, not something that is potentially centuries away (still something that will happen, nonetheless). They’re beautifully designed and you’d struggle to not be excited about the future of space exploration and travel after seeing these. Check them out after the cut.

E3 is coming, and if you’re a gaming fan like me, this will excite you. Three days before it, though, something exciting is happening. Nintendo needs a miracle to become cool again, and this just may do it - after 25 years, the Nintendo World Championship is back. Touring cities across the United States in 1990, with the final being held in Hollywood, the tournament got people involved of all ages as they played Super Mario Bros, Rad Racer and Tetris, battling it out to be crowned champion. With gaming being an online phenomenon now, Nintendo will likely open spectating up to everyone through streaming. Can’t wait for this. More nostalgia after the cut.
