Yesterday I had a day of hitting the repeat button on the Destiny Fulfilled album. That album is just so damn good, I love the fact that it tells a story from start to finish. The story is so strong that I think that someone should turn the album into a musical. I would sit down and write the musical myself but I just don’t have the time. Ideally I would have liked to use the song ‘Free’ as todays throwback but since it wasn’t actually released as a single i’ve decided to go with ‘Cater 2 U’. I hope y’all enjoy, have a great day.

Over the last month the elusive street artist known as Banksy has been leaving his humorous mark all over The Big Apple. Maybe it is the rebel within me or just an intrigue for a masked crusader but I have always been a Banksy fan. I once queued for something like eight hours on the last day of Bansky’s exhibition in his home town of Bristol, it ended up being a bit of an anti-climax but I am still glad to say I went. He has been putting out a lot of art work while in New York so check out the full post for some of my favourite pieces.

SCRIPTURA VITAE is an incredible short film brought to us by New York-based artist Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic, showcasing a hypnotic visual poetic performance piece that explores the dualities between life and death, art and artist. Starring Japanese actress Mihi Nikaido (best known for her role in the once banned cult classic Tokyo Decendance in 1992), and dancer Maki Shinagawa, the artistic and dramatic visuals are complimented just perfectly by music from Grammy nominated Diplo, London producer Actress and British electronic duo Plaitum. It aired last week on Channel 4′s Random Acts, and is well worth the watch. Check out the trailer after the jump.

The phrase “it’s like finding a needle in a hay stack” is the only way that can describe this incredible story shared by Saroo Brierly. At the very young age of 5 Saroo was unintentionally separated from his family and was subsequently declared lost. Due to his lost status he was adopted into a new family however this new family was in Australia. Having lived majority of his life in Australia with his new family Saroo decided to try and track down his birth family through the use of Google Earth and his astounding photographic memory. Amazingly he succeeded in his quest and reunited with his mother and siblings, watch his incredible story after the cut.

Last week, Supremebeing held the the 4th installation of their renown #WhiteCanvasProject with a helping hand (and a kindly donated rooftop) from London art collective EndoftheLine. The purpose…to create unique artworks by reclaiming and reinventing objects with no original purpose as art (the limited edition varsity jackets created by the artists were a bonus). In the words of actor/comedian Danny Kaye “Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can”…

They’re like the cousin who comes around to stay once in a blue moon, you see them for a bit and they disappear.Whenever these guys go back into their bat cave, the end product is always next level. They’ve set the standard with the whole narrative, execution and marketing around their latest project, CHAZEBRALOPE. Teaming up with the German sportswear brand to produce their very first sneaker collaboration, the giant clearly understood TMC’s vision and allowed them creative reign to produce the sneaker of their choice and all the great content revolving around it. ‘Pelada, Favela’s Soccer’ showcases the passion of the Brazilian kids, the fans and culture that revolves around football in the poorer parts of the country. The short film focuses on the roots of Pelada football, how it’s alumni have gone onto conquer the world and remarkable testimonials from retired greats to active players such as Ronaldo (R9), Neymar, Paulinho and more. Some of the most renowned Brazilian players have come from similar backgrounds - football to many in the favela’s is their only way of life. Man I can’t wait for the World Cup next year, it should be quite a spectacle! who knows, the kids featured in this short may end up playing at the next one. Watch after the cut.

Yesterday I spent my day filling out a job application, looking for models for an upcoming photoshoot and catching up on sleep. In between all of that I made time to watch the new TLC biopic which premiered this week on VH1 in the US. The film gave a good insight into how the group was formed and what they went through during their career. The film reaffirmed their legacy and reintroduced their history to many including myself. I urge all fans past and present of the group to give the film a good watch because it makes you fall right back in love with them. I’ve been struggling trying to decide on what song of theirs I wanted to be featured for this weeks Throwback track having already used ‘Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg’, ‘Unpretty’ and ‘Diggin On You’ in the past. I finally decided on the song that brought in the new TLC era back in 1994.

Dopeness! to celebrate the first Indian winner of their Superstore award, Mumbai’s Le Mill, online fashion hub Farfetch debuts new Bollywood inspired fashion film. Most fashion films are always quite dark and arty farty so it’s refreshing to see one that’s quite light-hearted and action packed - filled with a lot of Indian movie clichés which you’ll notice in the fight scene. It stars a heroic protagonist and his equally fashionable love interest who find themselves battling against an evil villain and a bunch of cronies to defend their love. The only thing missing from a typical Bollywood film is a dance scene and um, Indian fashion designers. I’d have expected them to hero some regional designers in a film like this.
