Yin & Yang

Normally I would suggest that if you want to know something you should ask however on this occasion I see it necessary to disclose some info about ones self. First and foremost y’all need to know that I LOVE Y&Y and work hard to make sure we deliver great content. An absolute lover of music (music is everything) and recovering sneaker addict is the most truthful and succinct description I can give but since I have time to kill I will go on. I have recently finished my degree in Creative Advertising Strategy at London College of Communication (I don’t know how I managed to get away with that). 22 is my age and Daniel is my name but y’all can call me DJB. I’m an avid follower of football and support Manchester United (Yin you should give this a try). The saying goes ‘I could go on and on’ but in reality I can’t as I find writing about my self harder than trying to understand quantum physics. Writing about oneself is harder than it seems for some reason! You’ll get to know me through my posts but I’ll briefly fill you in on the basics. I’m currently in my third and final year at London Metropolitan University studying Interior Design. To say that I’m a shopaholic would be an understatement; I’d choose to buy clothes over food to keep up my unhealthy addiction to Topshop. Unfortunately my bank balance won’t allow me to travel to the far corners of the world just yet, but in the meantime my oyster lets me find plenty of inspiring places and people in the Big Smoke.

MTV Base helped me make the switch from Spice Girls to Jay-Z at the age of 12 and I haven’t looked back ever since. I started blogging in 2009 when I realised I was boring my friends with my track-by-track analysis of “808s & Heartbreaks” over a 1/4 chicken & peri chips. I was racking up 14,000 monthly views from all around the world and as a result of writing about music I’ve made some amazing friends, interviewed some of my favourite artists and landed a job in digital media at an ad firm! Fast-forward to 2011, and I’m finally realising I could actually make a career out of what I love. My inspirations include my Mother, Coltrane Curtis, dream Hampton, Tina Fey and Larry David! I eat/procrastinate/swear/talk/dream too much and my biggest motivator is people telling me “I can’t”. A music, digital marketing and tech junkie with a tendency to keep it real at all times! Sugar coating is for doughnuts.

Hi folks, my name is Amon. I am a 22 year old Sport Science graduate currently residing in Watford! I have many passions, namely music and video games, and I also love my football. At this point I have to drop in that I am a Man U fan! I generally enjoy watching any sport that’s being played at the highest level, even when Messi & co are destroying my team. First and foremost though, I am fanatical about film! One of my favourite film quotes is in ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ where Will Smith tells his son: ‘You want something, go get it. Period’.
