Nixon has introduced a new series of watches as part of their Surplus campaign. The series consists of different twelve models all of which are linked by a khaki palette making them the perfect accessory for the potential outfit choice inspired the FashionBeans post. The collection will be available through select Nixon retailers worldwide.

UK brand FLY53 clothing has decided to venture into the accessories market with it’s debut range of watches. The collection consists of six esquisite men’s analogue watches and they all come at an affordable (student!) prices varying between £80-85. The brand has always had a sense of refined English gentleman combined with a street savvy styling. I’m definitely feeling all 3 pictured above, the gold one especially. I could do with a gold/brown strap watch to finish off some of my looks #metro. More imagery and information on the reverse.

Who still rocks G-Shocks? I own about 5-6 but haven’t worn any in 2011 so far. Mainly because my style has progressed and it doesn’t quite fit in anymore. They have become insanely common in London over the past year or so, the PR have been doing a great job of hosting weekly events at the Shoreditch store. However nearly all the acts they seem to put up are from the Grime scene as I despise the whole genre. Also the crowd these events attracts aren’t great, way too many ‘scene’ kids rock these images. I don’t want to be wearing the same watch as a 15 year old, I don’t know about you but something doesn’t feel right when you see a watch you paid £80 for is rocked by a kid 10 years younger than you! that’s where Amplifyd Concepts comes in. Hmm, I am wow’d by BAPE‘s creativity. This collaboration with G-Shock is so original #psyche. Seriously, you would expect them to make more of an effort and not just play with hue/saturation on Photoshop. This is basically exactly the same as their G-Shock collab watch a few years ago and I own that one. I was young and bought it mainly because Kanye rocked it. Celebrity endorsement worked on me back then. More on the reverse.

It’s been rather quiet on the Fossil front from us lately but here is a further preview of the mens accessories range, I posted photos from their press day for this spring late November last year. As I’ve expressed before, I am a big fan of the brand- mainly because of their watches which are amazing! Their spring collection is all about welcoming the spring season with a neutral colour pallet, light fabrics and earthy touches. As always with Fossil you can expect top of the range quality and classic designs; The black watch is my favourite, check them out after the cut.

I’m not going to lie, I have fallen out of love with my G-Shock collection. I can’t remember the last time I wore my limited edition BAPE one that cost me quite a bit a few years back. They’ve just become a little too common and just don’t suit my style anymore, saying that, I bet I’ll wear one today. This new prototype Casio unveiled features a plethora of technological features that include – bluetooth, smart phone alerts (calls, texts, emails) but it doesn’t you the actual information just notifies you of them. It’ll also being able to locate your phone by setting off an alarm if misplaced, these are some of the new features that will be implemented into Casio’s new lines. I actually quite like the simplicity and slickness of the model previewed above.
Fashion plays a big part of what we do here at Y&Y, we aim to bring to you and showcase the worlds leading brands in the industry as well as indicating and highlighting what would suit our own personal style. Now every outfit can be made just that little bit better with good use of some great accessories, incorporating the perfect watch to go with an outfit can make the difference.
