Welcome to the first episode of Video Jukebox, a weekly post where I’ll feature my favourite music videos of the week I’ve stolen the name from one of MTV’s first ever feature shows and thank goodness I’m not famous enough (yet) to be sued for such blatant trademark infringement. Video Jukebox aired at a time when MTV was just about showcasing the latest videos from the top talent, providing a platform for both the musician and the team behind the video to shine – that’s before they started providing a place for Teen ‘Moms’, Trailer Trash, Airheads and Pornstars to shine. So in an ode to what MTV used to be about and what Yin&Yang is always about (showcasing dopeness basically) here we go, the first ever ‘episode’ with visuals from Mark Ronson, Tyga, tabi Bonney/Terri Walker, GLC/Rotimi, 14th, Iggy Azalea, Clement Marfo/Kano, Phonte and Chiddy Bang. Hit the jump for the goodies!

Months ago back when my Music News Monday series was called Music News Weekly I introduced you all to a new boyband rnb group called Mindless Behavior. Today I bring you an updated version of their debut single My Girl, the new version now features Tyga, Lil Twist and Ciara. Although the new incarnation of the song doesn’t actually feature much of the boys singing t’s still a pretty solid effort.

2010 has come and gone and as the previous year drew to a close a whole host of people made lists of their favourites/Top 10’s from the year be it in music, TV or film. I personally find it to hard write top 10 lists so I thought I’d take the idea and put a different spin on it. Instead of listing my favourite songs I will highlight a few that caught my attention for one reason or another. 2010 has seen growth and maturity materialise in me and this has allowed me to appreciate things I never before would have done including music. Diversity is the keyword of 2010 in terms of where I’m at with music. The story continues after the cut.

Shoulda Woulda Coulda is back and this time I have decided to focus this week’s edition on the talents of one particular artist. I have put together three songs from talented entertainer Chris Brown that I feel could and would have been hugely successful. Two songs are tracks Chris appears as a guest feature and the other is indeed fully fledged Chris brown track. Check them out on the flipside.

Eargasms

posted in music by Yin

I think I wrote the last Eargasms almost 3 weeks ago! It’s been a while and I’ve got a lot of good new music. Obviously only that tracks I like, the rest have been placed in the recycle bin. I’ll kick start this week’s post with a track off Step Up 3D by Trey Songz, you know what to do.

The video is dope. The song is definitely a grower; I didn’t like it at first but now after a few plays of the video, I’m hooked. Chris Brown’s dancing kills it as always and I just love the way it is shot in B&W; the tattoos and the dancing in the tunnel look ill. I’ll add their mixtape to this week’s Eargasms post, it’s surprisingly good. More videos like this please, less of the typical sh*t. Video on the flipside.

Chris Brown has had a pretty rough start for 2010 being that his third album “Graffiti” didn’t do so well in record sells. But Brown is back and out with a new video in which he teams up with Young Money’s Tyga. The whole concept was very scattered for me. The song is Holla At Me and I really didn’t see where a bunch of random people around a warehouse connected with the title or lyrics of the song. The quality was quite somehow. Not exactly poor but it definitively lacked what the other Breezy videos had. Besides that you can see a whole of growth in Tyga’s skills from his Coconut Juice days. View the video after the cut.
