It’s been a while since we’ve heard new music from former B2K member Omarion. He has had a few issues regarding record labels and all that jazz in the past couple of years, not to mention that infamous outburst from Raz B which drew attention to Omarion (not just him) for the wrong reasons. However this past week saw the release of his mixtape entitled The Awakening. I wasn’t going to post this but I revisited it yesterday and realised that there are a couple of tracks that deserve some recognition. one track though on there that draw my immediate attention is his cover of my baby Aaliyah‘s ‘One In A Million’. All i’ll say is that Ne-yo already murdered the song and got slated so that should have been warning to all other artists not to mess with it. Overall the mixtape is neither great nor totally crap, its a good iTunes library filler. Listened and download after the break. This week was a pretty slow week for Music News and left me with a descision to make, whether or not to write this post. You may have noticed that normally this would be posted on a Sunday but I just didn’t have enough worthy news write a post about. What I have decided to do is write a very short a sweet post on the two most news worthy stories of the week and the rest I have just listed. This is a must read for all former B2K fans, a shocking accusation! (why do I feel like I’m writing for the tabloids right now lol)

With the album set to drop tomorrow, Mr.O drops his video for his latest single, Speedin’. I’m a big fan of the song, the video is a bit bleh but it plays on the concept of the song about a guy speedin’ to save his relationship.
Late again with this post folks, sorry! I had a long day of work then went to devour some fine Japanese sushi (the food, you dirty twats). Anyway I’ll start things off with my favourite tune of the week and its surprisingly from the self-proclaimed ‘King of Dance’ Omarion. After the jump for more.
Hope ya’ll had a good Christmas and enjoyed the glorified festive eating contest, I know i did. I was going to headline this post with the a leak of Lupe‘s Lasers project but Wasalu himself asked many blogfiends to take the song down. So yeh, I’m not going to share it with you but I can tell you the song is dope. That’s all I’m going to say. More songs and videos after the cut.
Omarion’s new video is dedicated to the King of Pop; the song is a load of rubbish but i appreciate the video because the choreography is very well done – really sharp and the structure is somewhat reminiscent of a mixture of MJ’s videos (particularly ‘Bad’) with the morbid set design and synchronized choreography. I think a lot of Jackson fans will appreciate this, check it out.
