Oh boy. I was invited down to Nike‘s PR agency a few days ago to photograph these babies for Hypebeast. With the sneaker world still recovering from the seizure caused by the Air Mag unveiling, this beautifully crafted Air Max 1 hyperfuse probably sent many into coma. No joke ting. I haven’t ever worn a pair, nor liked them till I came across the pink pair and now these. Lawd, the hyperfuse technology and minimalist look adds to its overall sneaker sex appeal. Nike Air Mag

posted in fashion by Yin

Gosh, every blog in the world has posted about this before us. In fact a few readers have wondered why we haven’t already posted it – work deadlines. I’m sure you’ve all seen and read everything about the Nike Mag already but I felt compelled to post it. Not because I loved watching BTTF back to back in my younger years, though admittedly I’d be more than willing to use my life savings to get me a working Delorean. This sneaker launch really isn’t for the average ‘sneakerhead’ or the type who stupidly camp outside stores, it’s for the rich who are looking to purchase a piece of memorabilia. The plus side is all of the money raised will be dedicated the Michael J Fox foundation. More on the reverse.

Ah what a day, a long ass day . My left eye has been twitching all day, no idea why!? One of my colleagues said it’s down to tiredness, it’s probably that and the fact I stare at a screen for 10+ hours a day. Today was a little bit special, the lovely folks over at Nike invited us down to the private viewing of their exhibition with Arena Homme + magazine commemorating Arsenal‘s 125th birthday. Of course as a Gooner, I was certainly not going to miss this opportunity. The prospect of meeting a few players and reigniting my love for football lured me in. P.S. I wrote this on Thursday – should have posted last night but I fell into a 10 hour slumber as soon as I got home.

Oh gosh. Never thought I’d say this about an Air Max but these are super SEXY. Yes sneaker heads, hate on me and call me for not liking the classic air max model that most of you worship. I was never into the sporty sneakers but something about this pair just stands out for me. It’s not just the bright colourway with the contrasting shiny metallic bits – it’s the construction that fascinated me. It’s completely stitch-less – the Hyperfuse is a three layer composite technology invented by Nike. It’s engineered in a very similar manner to the carbon fibre composites in F1 race cars, now that’s telling you something. Imagine the Nike labs with scientists experimenting on sneakers haha. The tech basically fuses together all 3 layers to form a continuous upper that pushes the boundaries of durability, breathability and weight. Originally inspired by the conditions that young Chinese kids were playing basketball in, they were all wearing inappropriate heavy footwear. Nike provides the solution. More on the reverse.

Run dem crew

I haven’t mentioned it on Y&Y before, but back in February of this year I began running. I was terrible at it; I’m still not any type of pro-athlete but I’m preparing for my first 10K soon, and a couple of half-marathons towards the end of the year. Early in my running journey I was introduced to east London running collective Run Dem Crew.

Not going to lie, I’ve put on a bit of weight since the start of this final semester at university. It’s been stressful and there have been many days like today where I’ve literally just sat on one chair for 18 hours+ with minimal movement, well odd toilet trip, food and walk around room to keep bones moving but other than that I’ve been glued to the seat. I finish Thursday and I’ve already planned to get into jogging mode on Saturday. However I don’t have running shoes, all my Nike’s are far too nice and not made for jogging. So checked out JD Sport’s Nike shoes section. More on the reverse.
