A rather delayed Video Jukebox this week, apologies folks! I can hold two nights of D’Angelo live at Brixton Academy fully responsible for this one! This week M.I.A. re-defined the phrase ‘making an entrance’ with two rather controversial music videos hitting the web. I decided to ignore the Madonna & Nicki Minaj video…it’s boring, full of advertising (Nicki’s adi-breasts) and poor M.I.A. & Nicki only get a small feature at the end. Plus her video for ‘Bad Girls’ is way cooler! Miguel and Day26 have their eyes set on the fast-approaching Valentine’s Day with their new R&B-smooth videos. There’s also some Hip Hop from Pharoahe Monch, Blu, The Quaranteam and a fan-made video for The Throne’s anthem track, “Ni**as in Paris”! Enjoy, and I promise I’ll be on time for our breakfast date this Saturday!

For those who follow me on twitter (if you don’t then you should be) then you will have seen me tweet that I am #NowPlaying Jhene Aiko many times this past week. I have played certain songs from here mixtape everyday this week, I’ve been blasting her tunes so much that my neighboughs probably know the words to the songs by now. I only came across her after reading about her on ThatGrapeJuice so shout out to them for putting me onto her. Since I have been put onto her I feel that it’s only right that I introduce you all to her too so everybody I present Jhene Aiko.

Lawd. It’s about time he released a video for this song! easily my favourite by the singer/songwriter Miguel Jontel. It’s the song that got him his record deal with Jive almost 4 years ago and I’m glad he’s finally released an album after a lot of legal issues with one of his earlier contracts. The album isn’t amazing but there are a few songs here and there which certainly got rinsed on my iTunes. ‘All I Want Is You‘ out in stores and iTunes now, go purchase. Peep the video on the reverse.
This is such a dope tune, I still haven’t gotten bored of it. The beat and Miguel‘s vocals go so well together, it’s one of them smooth r&b/hip-hop tracks you can listen to on repeat. One can relate to the track, well to a certain extent but no time for emotions in blogposts. I don’t want to lose my cyber-street credibility. Peep the video after the cut. P.S. is this the first time we see J. Cole in a video?
I held back the post a fair bit again, mainly due to the fact that there wasn’t many songs out when I started to write this on Sunday. Back to business, this first track is off the hook. It’s been played over 40 times since I downloaded it last Friday, this is real music: no electro synthesized beats, no autotune. Miguel has an indescribably good voice and smooth drum beat with 2 dope verses from J. Cole. Plenty more after the cut.
