I’m not one of these people that go on and on about race and inequality/equality however when I see things like this it makes me feel proud. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the last Burberry campaign that saw two black models featured as lead models. Following on from that its nice to see that it wasn’t just a once in a blue moon occurrence as Louis Vuitton have just released their 2011 Fall/Winter campaign and it too features a black model. Nyasha Matonhodze, a Zimbabwean-born, British-raised 16-year-old model, has been chosen as one of the new faces for the brand. The advertising campaign was directed by the brand’s creative director, Marc Jacobs and shot by world-renowned fashion photographer Stephen Meisel. I would love to see more of this but could it just a short faze that will quickly fizzle out.

I’m in need of a weekend bag and have been looking to buy one for quite some time but have never gotten round to buying one. Though my budget it is small my dreams remain big, so when I see that Louis Vuitton have released pictures of their men’s 2011 Spring/Summer bags naturally I become interested. It is safe to say that if I had money I definitely would be purchasing a few of these items, especially the Scott Campbell inspired Utah Tattoo engraved offering. Check the collection when you read on.

In recent months my sneaker collection has seen a dramatic drop in growth due to the fact that I am unable to afford the type of sneakers that I so desire. Christian Louboutin, YSL, Louis Vuittion, Raf Simons and Gucci have all designed sneakers that have caught my attention but are as yet out of my price range. Trussardi 1911 have introduced a range of sneakers for their 2010 Fall/Winter collection costing between $553-$605+ similar to the price range of the previously mentioned brands. However on this occasion I have not been drawn to any of the styles and so wonder why such designs are commanding such a high price. The main focus of this line-up of sneakers is plaid and tassels, which were complemented with leather and suede check the line up when you read on.

Here’s one for the ladies. Louis Vuitton has launched their new accessories collection dubbed Monogram Empreinte. This 2010 Fall/Winter Collection places its focus on the handbag. The handbag is a very essential accessory for women for two reasons, 1. it holds all the junk women like to carry around with then and 2. It is a good way to complete an outfit. Wearing the perfect outfit with a shit handbag just devalues the effort putting the outfit together in the first place. Tote bags, Clutches, Handbags and Wallets all feature in this collection in a range of colours. I must add as a male I definitely would purchase a few of these for my woman because some of them are really nice. Check the collection out for yourself after the jump.

Rarely do I see some variety in Louis Vuitton‘s bags and pieces but this time they have switched it up with New York based artist Scott Campbell. He was actually recruited by influential designer by Marc Jacobs as he is his personal tattoo artist. Scott not only added his tattoo-inspired customised artwork onto a number of leather bags, he also added LV logotype neck tattoos to the runway models. After the cut to witness the dopeness.
