Lil Wayne is to drop a new album in September. Wayne who is still currently incarcerated will have an album full of new recordings drop on his birthday September 27th. The album will serve as a prelude to Tha Carter IV which could see the light of day as early as November just after Weezy’s release from jail. The guys Cookin’ Soul fuses Quincy Jones “Summer In The City” and Jay-Z’s “Hello Brooklyn” to make “Summer In Brooklyn” Being the Brooklynite I am, I just had to post this. Anyone who is from BK or has been to BK knows that Brooklyn in the summer is dope. Everything from block parties, concerts, fashion shows, festivals to name a few. The video is shot in Black & White which kind of gives this reminiscent yet raw type feel. More after the cut.

If you havn’t heard of him already, he’s a ‘hip hop’ artist- his name is Bangs from Sudan SNM. I think hes supposed to be called ‘Banks’ but he just can’t pronounce it! OK I’m not even going to even begin to lie; from the minute this video started rollin’ I laughed so hard its ridiculous. I mean everything is just wrong, the image, the vocals, the rapping, the editing- a complete train wreck I’ve seen better videos shot on a camera phone! The worst part is that people actually like this and are comparing him to the likes of Lil Wayne! I know Weezy isn’t the best of rappers but he is a million times better than this F.O.B. I don’t care this has to be a joke, he doesn’t actually think he is good… does he!?

Time for the first eargasms post of this new decade, I want to make it special but don’t really have much new music this week unfortunately. Mainly because of the festive period so not many songs have been leaking. I’m gonna start things off with a new track from a chick called Shannell/SNL, apparently she’s signed to Young Money? Yooo I can’t be letting Yang chose his top 5 and not do one for myself. Right, when it comes to music for me it’s almost impossible to pick 5 tunes from the 1000s that I’ve listened to this year. I listen to at least 5 new tracks on a daily basis, my iTunes library consists of over 14,000 songs and yes I do buy music. My musical tastes are very eclectic! but I’m going to stick with Hip-Hop & Rap tunes (mainly commercial/radio friendly tracks) in this list, after the cut for my top 500.

Hope ya’ll had a good Christmas and enjoyed the glorified festive eating contest, I know i did. I was going to headline this post with the a leak of Lupe‘s Lasers project but Wasalu himself asked many blogfiends to take the song down. So yeh, I’m not going to share it with you but I can tell you the song is dope. That’s all I’m going to say. More songs and videos after the cut.
