I’ve been trying to rack my brain to think of any other time that I know of when British music and British artists enjoyed so much success not only at home but overseas as well. When I say British music I am talking predominately about British “Urban” music. It seems as though America has run out of new, fresh and innovative creative ideas and are now turning to Britain along with the rest of Europe for inspiration.

If there’s one thing the UK music industry does not lack, it’s female vocalists. From Adele to Duffy, Pixie to Ellie, you can take your pick. if you asked me to pick a top 3 I would reply “only 3, because I can make a top 10″. My favourite female singers in the UK are Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Eliza Doolittle too name just a few. The reason I could name a top 10 so easily is due to the fact that there are so many female singers in the business. All tick different boxes and have all shared critical and commercial success between them.

Shoulda Woulda Coulda is a new music based post (you know how I do) promoting songs that I feel were overlooked and should have been given single treatment. Album sales hugely depend on the success of the singles released from the album especially the singles released before an album drops. On many occasions artists/labels choose to push the wrong singles in my opinion so my job is to point out the songs that I feel would have been a great single choice. Today’s post include songs from Mariah Carey, Ja Rule, Leona Lewis, The Dream.

Leona Lewis has joined the latest Cotton Inc ad campaign and has given us her own rendition of Colbie Caillat’s ‘The Fabric of our Lives’. Cotton Inc have made the full version of both songs available for free download at here. Advert on the flipside.

I’m writing this post on the way to work, my iPod died. My headphones are now ear muffs. I’ll kick start things this week with a song by Hip-hop duo, U-N-I and it features R&B singer, Miguel. You know what to do…

It’s that time of the week again! where I hook you up with some of the dopest tunes I’ve discovered this week. I’ll start things off with a track of Alicia Keys’ forthcoming project, The Element of Freedom. I’m sure the album will be a classic, she’s such an amazing vocalist! anyway the track is titled Unthinkable (I’m Ready) and its about a woman who’s ready to take the lead in her relationship. Track apparently features Drizzy Drake but I only hear him for like a split second in the background. Hit the read more button for tracks.
UPDATED – just found out that Drake wrote the song for Ms.Keys.
