I think you’ll all agree that 2010 was a really intense year, from Volcanic eruptions to collapsing mines there were quite a few catastrophic events and stories that influenced the world one way or another. I’ve put together a list of 5 events/ scenarios that I think caused an impact in our lives.

If you’re not aware of the forgoing Haitian presidency bids click here and read my previous post. Last Friday Wyclef Jean’s bid for candidacy was rejected on the basis of residency by the election-bureau despite meeting all the requirements set out by law.

As ambassador-at-large for the Caribbean nation Wyclef has placed his bid to be Haitian president. Despite the fact he emigrated to Brooklyn at the age of 9 his love for his homeland has always been apparent. He is seeking a 5 year term to help rebuild the corrupted and recently devastated country giving Haitians hope for a better future.

Khalid Mohtaseb was hired to go to shoot in Haiti a week after the devastating earthquake that hit the island. While he was there, he decided to shoot a personal montage in his spare time on his Canon 5DMKII. The video is most definitely beautiful but does have a touch of sadness. The video has given me goosebumps, perfect choice of music. If you haven’t already donated to Haiti, please do so via this link. Video after the cut.
I’ll be honest here, I didn’t really like the new all star 25 for Haiti single which featured the likes of Justin Bieber, Miley to Kanye and Drizzy. I just felt with that amount of talent on showcase I kind of expected them to use that talent to create something new and not just remake a classic which shouldn’t have been touched. I guess it’s okay because it is a charity single after all but it’s a damn shame. Anyway back to this video, 25 YouTube singers from around the world have united via the Internet. This is beautiful, I much prefer this to the single that was put out. Now back to essay writing *sighs*…video after the cut.
