When I first came across 13th Witness, he was just a photographer and now he’s moved into the field of directing adverts and music videos. Now that’s progression. This is by far the best one by him and it features renowned G-Shock athelete and BMX rider Nigel Sylvester. The advert titled ‘What I Always Dreamed Of’ captures Nigel biking down the streets of NYC, doing what he does best – performing insane tricks and making them look effortless. 13th Witness’s eye for detail and film/editing skills has proven once again why he is one of the best in the game. I remember in my first post I said ‘One can only dream of being as good as this guy‘ – I stick by that statement even though I’ve improved with my photography. He’s just too good. Video on the reverse.

I’m on a quick 30 minute break from dissertation writing and I honestly feel bad for not posting as much as usual so have decided to do this giveaway. This one is pretty special, I know all you G-Shock loving hipsters will enter! I don’t want to give this watch away haha but I don’t see myself ever wearing something so blinged out. I don’t think it fits my personal style anyway, so hop on after the cut and answer one simple question.

Who still rocks G-Shocks? I own about 5-6 but haven’t worn any in 2011 so far. Mainly because my style has progressed and it doesn’t quite fit in anymore. They have become insanely common in London over the past year or so, the PR have been doing a great job of hosting weekly events at the Shoreditch store. However nearly all the acts they seem to put up are from the Grime scene as I despise the whole genre. Also the crowd these events attracts aren’t great, way too many ‘scene’ kids rock these images. I don’t want to be wearing the same watch as a 15 year old, I don’t know about you but something doesn’t feel right when you see a watch you paid £80 for is rocked by a kid 10 years younger than you! that’s where Amplifyd Concepts comes in. Hmm, I am wow’d by BAPE‘s creativity. This collaboration with G-Shock is so original #psyche. Seriously, you would expect them to make more of an effort and not just play with hue/saturation on Photoshop. This is basically exactly the same as their G-Shock collab watch a few years ago and I own that one. I was young and bought it mainly because Kanye rocked it. Celebrity endorsement worked on me back then. More on the reverse.

It wasn’t long ago the two south East Londoners collaborated with G-shock, now the British contemporary fashion brand VA-G are back with an impressive insight into their SS11 Collection. VA-G have said they’ve decided to take the military trend from last season and re-work it with contemporary inspiration. After the cut you can watch the video that features behind the scenes footage of the duo shooting the promo for their new collection. You can expect their pieces to drop later this month.

I’m not going to lie, I have fallen out of love with my G-Shock collection. I can’t remember the last time I wore my limited edition BAPE one that cost me quite a bit a few years back. They’ve just become a little too common and just don’t suit my style anymore, saying that, I bet I’ll wear one today. This new prototype Casio unveiled features a plethora of technological features that include – bluetooth, smart phone alerts (calls, texts, emails) but it doesn’t you the actual information just notifies you of them. It’ll also being able to locate your phone by setting off an alarm if misplaced, these are some of the new features that will be implemented into Casio’s new lines. I actually quite like the simplicity and slickness of the model previewed above.

Don’t ask me about the random pigeon in the photograph, it’s probably vain and jumped at the photo opportunity. I don’t actually know the name of this street off Brick Lane, it’s one of the ‘coolest’ places to hang on a weekend. Quite a few chill bars around the place, Rough Trade, G-Shock Store and a few small clothing & footwear shops. My favourite one being Son Of A Stag – they have the best collection of Redwing boots and Edwin jeans in London. Well from the shops I’ve been to in the past, go check it out.
