World Cup fever is in full affect and reeking havoc on our emotions (especially England fans), however the bubble of football craze that we are currently in is set to end July 11th after the World Cup finals. For those who feel they are not ready to have their bubble burst the A:3K Football contest may be just the thing to extend the love affair with the beautiful game. A:3K Football brings together six of the worlds most talented footballers to show off their skills and compete for the title. Grab your self some tickets to the event which takes place on July 17th at the O2 Arena. For more info, read on.

I would actually run out of superlatives describing the vast array of skills Messi has, this kid (he’s older than me!) is beyond amazing. In my opinion, he’s the best of this current generation of players and his exceptional performances in the World Cup so far have proven it. The advert tries to tell us that every team requires a ‘spark’ and England clearly lack this so called spark. I know Gerrard is featured in the clip but he clearly doesn’t provide it. God help us, God save the Queen. Advert after cut.

Unfortunately this is probably as good as watching the real match, damn you Robert Green. I stumbled across this gem a few days ago; the goals from the match are recreated using Lego figures along with actual match commentary. It’s hilarious, especially the scene with Green fumbling the ball. Whoever created this has a lot of free time on their hands, video after the cut.

Here we have the premiere of the music video for ‘Everywhere You Go’, the FIFA World Cup anthem brought to you by the MTN Group (Africa’s leading telecoms operator). This surprisingly good upbeat recording (considering it’s a song for the World Cup not actually and not for and artists album) features my new best friend Kelly Rowland and Rhythm of Africa United. The song in my opinion is actually the best World Cup song to come put this campaign, im loving the fact that it has an urban flavour to it. Peep the vid after the jump.

….and not that great. As usual the media have overhyped the England team, many of us (including myself) believed Capello‘s team would come out firing from all cylinders and smash our transatlantic counterparts into oblivion. Well we kind of did as we scored within 5 minutes of kick-off but fromthere, it was all down-hill from that point. More after the cut.

It is with my deepest regret that I bring you this news, however I do feel that it is important to air this information so that as many people can pray or spare a thought for the Mandela family. The former South African president Nelson Mandela is today mouring instead of celebrating (which he should be due to the start of the World Cup) following the death of his 13-year-old great granddaughter Zenani. Zenani was tragically killed in a car accident on the way home from a Worl Cup concert in Soweto Thursday night. For more details read on….

I’m not a big fan of UK music and this song pretty much sums up why I dislike it. Dizzee Rascal is no longer hiphop/grime/whatever/urban, I will applaud him for becoming the first male solo artist ever to have had four number one singles off the same album. I don’t usually watch Britain’s Got Talent but my friend Leona told me to put it on and that’s where I witness Dizzee, a beer-bellied James Corden and a bunch of hooligans murder a classic R&B song from the 90′s. All for the money, jumping on the World Cup hype. More after the cut.
