I haven’t been able to post properly over last couple of days, which has meant I haven’t been able to update y’all with the latest music that i’ve been encountering. During this brief moment of internet access I have decided to write a few posts specifically music related. This first post is for all you Weeknd lovers. The Weeknd caused a stir in the music industry when they released their House of Balloons set with the song What You Need becoming a firm favourite of mine but I think I told you this before. Anywho I stumbled on a few unreleased tracks from the Canadian based musicians including a track believed to be featuring fellow Canadian star Drake, however I personally don’t believe it is Drake. Give the tracks a listen after the cut.

I’ve been trying to rack my brain to think of any other time that I know of when British music and British artists enjoyed so much success not only at home but overseas as well. When I say British music I am talking predominately about British “Urban” music. It seems as though America has run out of new, fresh and innovative creative ideas and are now turning to Britain along with the rest of Europe for inspiration.

The world premiere of the hotly anticipated video for the Nicki Minaj and Drake collaboration ‘Moment 4 Life’ finally occurred when I was sleeping last night. Ever since stills of the video were released showing Minaj and Drake in a situation where it looks as if they are about to kiss, the blog world has been crazy with rumors of a relationship between the two and all kinds of funny stuff. Now we can finally see if they kiss or not. Now this video has dropped all im waiting on is for Kanye to drop the ‘All of the Lights’ video and i’ll be happy. Check the video on the flipside.

Family over at SoulCulture TV do it again, this time they managed to get groupies favourite rapper, Drizzy Drake on the last day of his Lightdreams & Nightmares UK Tour. As always this is just a teaser of the full interview which will drop at a later date. I’ve kind of lost interest in Drake as of late, mainly due to his  Trey Songz-inspired stage antics and groupie love. He needs to comeback to his Hip-Hop roots, allow the groupies! SCTV ask him his what his Favourite Verse is. He states is ‘The Calm‘ and gives us a back story. I know he’s only wearing the United apparel because of Ferdinand, he doesn’t support that rubbish team. Video on the flipside.

Over the past 3 days, I have had to endure seeing numerous Facebook, Twitter and Blackberry Messenger statuses about everyone’s excitement to see Drake at Hammersmith Apollo. Fair to say I was green with envy because I couldn’t go! I tried a lastminute.com type swoop for tickets but £100 plus £50 booking fee for general admission tickets was extortionate to say the least. I am a Drake fan but that’s pushing it!

So last night I headed off to the Hammersmith Apollo in excitement to see two of my favourite MC’s currently in hip-hop, J.Cole and Drake. Drizzy was headlining the gig, while the Roc Nation signee was playing the supporting role. Excited would not even be the word to describe my emotions throughout the day. These two found there way onto my iTunes library a few years back and have now made it there home. I don’t think a day goes by without me Listening to either artist. They are at the very top of the hip-hop game in my eyes.

This is my sh*t. I’ve had these three songs on repeat for the past 2 days, it’s perfect essay writing music in my opinion. @Yasmin gave me the heads up on them via Twitter and since then I’ve been trying to find out more about the group. Much to my surprise, they are what you call a ‘phantom group‘  as there is no information who they are apart from the fact they’re from Canada. You can call them a viral hit as they’ve already gained over a 100,000 hits on Youtube; there is something about the lazy/eerie/sexual impulse production that makes it infectious. More on the flipside.
