Holy Moly. This is absolutely insane, I have new found respect for the French after watching this video haha. I’ve never seen this type of craziness before, ‘Skyliners‘ – a group of French pioneers in highlining. An activity that is a combination of climbing, slackline and tightrope walking. I’d add sky diving and a super hero complex to that list. MADNESS! I can’t even jump from 6 steps up my staircase let alone a 20,000ft mountain. They travel from Chamonix in France to the skyscrapers of Paris and then to the incredible cliffs and fjords of Norway. Watch the video on the reverse, you’ll be blown away. Guaranteed.

Flicking the channels aimlessly I came across a documentary on OHTV (Sky channel 199) that I thought was quite compelling. A topic that has been seen many debates, ‘Black Women: In the Media‘ explores the careers of 10 formidable black women breaking the boundaries within the media industry. The three part piece features the likes of award-winning author Malorie Blackman, BBC and OH TV Producer Michelle Brooks, ITN Journalist Charlene White, CEO of LGN Yolande Letshou and so many more successful women sharing their experiences, highs and lows throughout their journey. More after the cut.

The other night I was invited over to BFI’s Watch This Space festival. After a long week, it was nice to unwind, chill and watch a few short films. Definitely not your average trip as you’re literally watching the space from BFI National Theatre’s flytower. As part of the theatre’s summer festival of outdoor entertainment, they teamed up with American Express for a celebration of the best film and entertainment throughout September. I chose to go on the Friday as the films on show were all about LONDON in the 50s.

I should have posted this 2 days ago, in fact I should have attended the premiere at Soho House on Friday but you know, I’m work full-time now – can’t skip work like I used to skip classes. That is one of the downsides of working life :(! Palladium team up with the BBC co-founder/N.E.R.D. frontman Pharrell Williams to look into Tokyo’s uprising movement from the recent earthquake and nuclear tragedies. I definitely recommend watching this documentary, it’s real insightful. I’ve just got half way through the 2nd part before my Firefox decided to crash. Most probably down to all the flash players, damn annoying. Hop on after the cut for all 5 parts. Perfect Sunday viewing.

Ah man, super jealous of Pharrell – no not because of his lifestyle, just the fact he gets to tour around Tokyo in this documentary. Palladium who have successfully relaunched the brand worldwide in the past year and half have teamed up with the BBC co-founder/N.E.R.D. frontman Pharrell Williams to look into Tokyo’s uprising movement from the recent earthquake and nuclear tragedies. I’m looking forward to seeing the full video which is set to drop online on the September 1st.

Here we have a trailer for a documentary revolving around the topic of doing what you love, breaking boundaries in order to do just that – it’s all about passion and drive. The documentary It’s very much like the Influencers documentary that dropped last year – focusing on 10 individuals who have ‘made’ it on their own, the independent people. BANDIT, a strategic ideas agency from Copenhagen works with clients who don’t understand the power of influencer marketing have decided to embark on a journey in which they go in search of like minded individuals from the fashion, branding, media, photography and design industries. I’m really looking forward to watching the full documentary which will consist of 10 conversations with the following creatives: Vashtie Kola (Designer), Jonathan Mannion (Photographer), Brendon Babenzien (Supreme), John Gerzema (Social Theorist), Noah Callahan-Bever (Complex), Rob Cristofaro (Bandit), Russ Bengtson (SLAM), Tom Britton, Andrew Lafiosca and James M. Reilly. Trailer on the reverse.

Im surprised our resident hip-hop head Tara hasn’t already posted this but just in case she hasn’t seen it yet I thought i’d put it up for you all to see. Check out this documentary which is being used as promotion for Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s collaborative album Watch The Throne, set for release August 1st and 5th. With the guys doing next to no promotion for the album thus far it seems this week things have kicked into gear with the release of their song ‘Otis’ and now this short film. I love how the clip incorporates old footage from back in the day, it highlights the growth in both artists.
