Converse serve a visual for their winter range, the lookbook is called ‘Outsider‘ and it features a great mixture of classic and more modern Converse models. Built to withstand the snow and keep your feet warm, these boots come sporting a tough build, stronger gripping heels so you don’t slip and thick cord laces. I love the shoot because of it’s youthful exuberance, it’s a really playful shoot that represents the brand and it’s ideal audience. Best thing about the lookbook is the location, it’s a Christmas-ey shoot which is obviously fitting for the season. There is a lot going on in the lookbook which tells a story but I like how the focus is still on the shoes, personal favourites include the brown leather boots with the cream sole. Lookbook after the break.

Converse have been making shoes and apparel for years but never have they had a dedicated Bag and Accessories Collection. In what can only be described as the next logical step, Converse have decided to expand their brand and move into that territory. We have a glimpse of what is sure to be a hit collection when it arrives in stores in the very near future. I suggest that you have a look and start scouting potential additions to your own wardrobe, I already have my eye set on the black duffle bag as seen in the picture above.

Rock and roll meets military in Converse‘s brand new mens apparel collection kicking things off with a rather captivating AW11 collection. Quite a fitting title: ‘Black Canvas‘ as the collection boasts a youthful exuberance with pieces like cargo pants, military style boots and bold flannel shirts. More after the cut.

At one point in your life, you had to have owned a pair of Converse. I know with my big feet, these were the shoes my mum could buy be that kept me in the ‘hip’ and ‘cool’ zone without making me look too much like a clown and without putting me in the ‘look at her Nike shoes, they’re so busted’ zone either. Ahhh, the greatness of Converse. So, as well as saving me from being bullied, Converse is playing superman to the well known and pretty popular venue, The 100 club, in London. The club, that brings a mixture of talent and just a damn basic love for music, was said to be closing due to ‘rocketing overheads’, and though many people campaigned against the demise of a club that would stir memories from 1942 (wooooah baby), it seemed as if there was nothing that could be done.

Nailgun* is a New York based collective of creative geniuses across all boards including: photography, illustration, animators, producers, painters the list goes on! Founded by Michael Waldron, these guys came together to “create specialised visual solutions” as they put it. I am so impressed with the stuff they’ve produced, most recently “Converse Aura”-I think the camera shots are great and they used alot of vibrant colours for the animations that I liked just because it gives such a positive vibe and relates well with the client (Converse) well. Starting Nailgun* I think was a pretty great idea because clearly these people are talented individuals so their skills combined would have boundless capabilities. Anways, check out the Converse Aura video after the cut.

I know Annabel loves up Converses but I’m not a big fan of them. The classic models are a bit too ‘blah’ for me. Though I did try rock them a year ago, bought my first pair and only wore them once. They’re still fresh and so clean clean. Converses are meant to be dirty though? according to the hipsters anyway. However this Spring‘s premium Chuck Taylor All Star range is dope. Three different colourways are previewed above, each with a leather upper, waxed laces and canvas flag lining which give it the vintage look. I’d definitely wear the black one and probably the red. More stuff from Converse coming real soon, you can get these joints at Size?‘s converse store on Carnaby Street.
