I’ve been trying to rack my brain to think of any other time that I know of when British music and British artists enjoyed so much success not only at home but overseas as well. When I say British music I am talking predominately about British “Urban” music. It seems as though America has run out of new, fresh and innovative creative ideas and are now turning to Britain along with the rest of Europe for inspiration.

At first I questioned why Chris Brown added ‘Deuces’ to the album as it had been officially released as a single on June the 25th 2010 and was available on his ‘Fan of a Fan’ mixtape since May last year. However on second thought I found it appropriate as he’s moved on from a very low point in his career and is saying deuces to all the haters. Waving his goodbyes, but not showing any hate as the albums title stood for ‘Forgiving All My Enemies’ (F.A.M.E.), but just recently CB said he wanted it to be closer to his heart so changed it to ‘Fans Are My Everything’.

The Grammy’s took place last night, but a certain Chris Brown was nowhere to be seen. Rihanna has just lifted the ban that was given to Brown due to the events, which conspired 2 years ago around this time. The young singer was up for 3 awards at last night’s show, but failed to win any. However like many stars last night, Breezy wasn’t the only one to be disappointed. I’m not going to say anything else about the Grammy’s now as I feel I wasted 3 hours of my life in the early hours of the morning.

2010 has come and gone and as the previous year drew to a close a whole host of people made lists of their favourites/Top 10’s from the year be it in music, TV or film. I personally find it to hard write top 10 lists so I thought I’d take the idea and put a different spin on it. Instead of listing my favourite songs I will highlight a few that caught my attention for one reason or another. 2010 has seen growth and maturity materialise in me and this has allowed me to appreciate things I never before would have done including music. Diversity is the keyword of 2010 in terms of where I’m at with music. The story continues after the cut.

Grime turn pop rapper Chipmunk teams up with American recording artist Chris Brown on his new single Champion” Champion happens to be Munk’s second single off his forthcoming album “Transition” and via twitter he announced the video’s release.  The fact both of them are on track together sounds a bit odd but I guess he thought this would be dope to work with a US artist. In my opinion it was quite a fail. The video was shot in Miami and directed by Colin Tilley same director who worked on Deuces. But for those interested in the failed attempt of a video, view it after the cut.
