When I first came across 13th Witness, he was just a photographer and now he’s moved into the field of directing adverts and music videos. Now that’s progression. This is by far the best one by him and it features renowned G-Shock athelete and BMX rider Nigel Sylvester. The advert titled ‘What I Always Dreamed Of’ captures Nigel biking down the streets of NYC, doing what he does best – performing insane tricks and making them look effortless. 13th Witness’s eye for detail and film/editing skills has proven once again why he is one of the best in the game. I remember in my first post I said ‘One can only dream of being as good as this guy‘ – I stick by that statement even though I’ve improved with my photography. He’s just too good. Video on the reverse.

I’m on a quick 30 minute break from dissertation writing and I honestly feel bad for not posting as much as usual so have decided to do this giveaway. This one is pretty special, I know all you G-Shock loving hipsters will enter! I don’t want to give this watch away haha but I don’t see myself ever wearing something so blinged out. I don’t think it fits my personal style anyway, so hop on after the cut and answer one simple question.

Who still rocks G-Shocks? I own about 5-6 but haven’t worn any in 2011 so far. Mainly because my style has progressed and it doesn’t quite fit in anymore. They have become insanely common in London over the past year or so, the PR have been doing a great job of hosting weekly events at the Shoreditch store. However nearly all the acts they seem to put up are from the Grime scene as I despise the whole genre. Also the crowd these events attracts aren’t great, way too many ‘scene’ kids rock these images. I don’t want to be wearing the same watch as a 15 year old, I don’t know  about you but something doesn’t feel right when you see a watch you paid £80 for is rocked by a kid 10 years younger than you! that’s where Amplifyd Concepts comes in. I’m not going to lie, I have fallen out of love with my G-Shock collection. I can’t remember the last time I wore my limited edition BAPE one that cost me quite a bit a few years back. They’ve just become a little too common and just don’t suit my style anymore, saying that, I bet I’ll wear one today. This new prototype Casio unveiled features a plethora of technological features that include – bluetooth, smart phone alerts (calls, texts, emails) but it doesn’t you the actual information just notifies you of them. It’ll also being able to locate your phone by setting off an alarm if misplaced, these are some of the new features that will be implemented into Casio’s new lines. I actually quite like the simplicity and slickness of the model previewed above.

A few days ago we headed down to the Casio event after work to check out what their upcoming collections for their premium watches range as well as their instantly recognisable G-Shock range. I’ll be honest, I’m not a big fan of their ‘classic’ models that were on display in the actual ‘Winter in August’ showroom. I feel if I’m going to spend money on a classic piece it would be from a brand that’s known for it. When I think Casio, I think G-Shock and they haven’t failed me with the new range. More after the cut.

Earlier this week we were invited down to Time2 Covent Garden store for a press evening. Time2 sell many of the most luxury brands there are including the likes of Hugo Boss, Rolex, Emporio Armani, GC and Tag Heuer to name but a few (more like my favourites). Clearly we’ve become obsessed with watches as its starting to look like all we ever talk about on here is watches; but its imperative that you see what Time2 have to offer next season if your into watches.

It’s been a solid year of Casio’s G-Shock, a lot of new models have been released and they’re not stopping there! there’s a few more models dropping on the next few weeks and here are a few from the Mirror Face collection. All the watches are again the DW6900SB model. You can straight away notice the shiny metallic bodies fused with the mirrored façades in four new colourways: tangerine with orange/white, navy blue with lime green, maroon with electric blue and sleek gray with dark red contrasts. All these should be available from G-Shock East in the next couple of weeks for £85. More photos after the cut.
