Loyal readers will know by now that I am certainly not BAPE’s number 1 fan. This new lookbook from A Bathing Ape gives us a look at some of the smarter/refined pieces from their grown up brand, Mr. Bathing Ape. To be honest, I’m not really feeling half the collection, 3 looks pictured on the left (image above) I could work with. The other 3 are hideous, I don’t know if it’s the photography or the choice of models, something just doesn’t work about them. I can imagine the price tags on these as well, they don’t look like suits that should be worth more than £200 at max. More on the reverse.

Hmm, I am wow’d by BAPE‘s creativity. This collaboration with G-Shock is so original #psyche. Seriously, you would expect them to make more of an effort and not just play with hue/saturation on Photoshop. This is basically exactly the same as their G-Shock collab watch a few years ago and I own that one. I was young and bought it mainly because Kanye rocked it. Celebrity endorsement worked on me back then. More on the reverse.

Highly acclaimed Japanese brand Bathing Ape is set to open their first ever Europe pop-up store on East London’s Brick Lane next week. This new shop gives fans of the brand a chance to buy limited edition ‘Pirate‘ themed apparel, graphically it’s the usual from BAPE. Nothing special for the extortionate prices you will be paying but that’s BAPE for you. All the stans will queue up to purchase some of these items. Customers can also purchase Pirate Booty Bags, of which the contents are not known until purchased but are they guarantee us they will be covetable items. I’m guessing they go for around £200 each as well. More details on the reverse.

Nov. 9th marked the release of Kid Cudi‘s highly anticipated sophomore album Man on the Moon II: Legend of Mr. Rager. To celebrate the album’s release Cudi teamed up with BAPE for a limited edition Legend of Mr. Rager t-shirt. The streets of SoHo,New York were packed as tons of die hard Cudi fans waited in line all to see Kid Cudi. The queue was very long with lines wrapping around the block and several lines on across the street. As fans waited, people were able to make purchases in return for a raffle ticket with chances of winning a Skate deck, Posters and Vinyl. More after cut.

Took this on the last official day of ‘Summer‘. We all know the real summer ended 2 months back in July, well it never really got kicked off and now we’re pretty much into winter. I’ve been walking up and down this road almost every weekday for 7 weeks now as the agency I intern at is located just around the corner from it. I’m going to miss this lifestyle but I promise you, Y&Y will get a hell of a lot more attention. Not that it doesn’t already! All you fresh kids, BAPE is located just on the left of this photograph and the Hideout Store is just passed that Pizza Express sign.

See I love it when streetwear brands show progression and growth, BAPE is doing exactly that. They’ve released a lookbook for their upcoming collaboration collection called Mr.Bathing Ape. I actually quite like the theme of the lookbook and a few of the pieces but I dislike the styling. I expected better as the Japanese are reknowned for their styling especially layering. The range features more tailoring, accessories as well as some knitwear this time around. Photos on the flipside folks.

So a whole collection of brightly coloured garms wasn’t enough, Bape launched their latest watches today (in the US of course). The new watches features the ‘cutting edge‘ shark design inside the face of the watch; dare I say it I actually like this. I may not be a fan of the clothing but they do produce some nice watches! The Bapex Clear Shark watch is available online, those of you in the US can find it here…its only a matter of time before they are available here in London.
