Timeless music should definitely be celebrated. Alicia Keys’ breakthrough album ‘Songs In A Minor‘ is one of those LP’s that never gets old. Songs such as ‘Fallin‘, ‘If I Ain’t Got You‘ and ‘Women’s Worth‘ are classics that will always be remembered. It has been 10 years since the release of the album which sold an incredible 11 million copies worldwide. Alicia Keys is celebrating the 10th anniversary with a intimate one-off gig at Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday 13th June. The gig will consist of just Alicia Keys and her piano! So cool.

As of Thursday 31st of March you will all be able to register for free tickets to Radio 1’s Big Weekend. The event will be taking place in Carlisle, Cumbria on the 14th & 15th of May 2011. You can tune in to Scott Mills on Radio 1 from 6.30am on Thursday for more information.

I don’t really post music videos any more but this preview of the belated Beyoncé and Alicia Keys is one that I can’t keep from ya’ll. It’s just a little teaser but oh my, we have waited so long for this! The 2 R&B heavyweights teamed up to bring you this hot video shot in Brazil. I’m pretty sure Beyoncé‘s camp must have given the go ahead for this, her comeback is imminent! I can just see her dropping a buzz single out of the blue. I’m waiting patiently for her to come and remove the Gaga’s, Riri‘s and Britney’s from our TV screen. Peep the extremely hot preview video on the reverse.

I feel like I haven’t written one of these in a while so instead of posting on a Tuesday, which is normally the designated day, i’ve decided to post this a day early. Don’t you just hate it when an artist and their label make plans to release a song that you really wanted to see get a release and they even shoot a video for the track but for some reason plans change and the video never sees the light of day. Well that is what happen with this track, It would have been a perfect song during last summer and the pictures from the set of the video looked amazing. Will we ever see the video for this song? who knows but i certainly hope so. Currently a new album is scheduled for this year so i’m guessing not. To know who and what song i’m talking about you’ll have to read on.

2010 has come and gone and as the previous year drew to a close a whole host of people made lists of their favourites/Top 10’s from the year be it in music, TV or film. I personally find it to hard write top 10 lists so I thought I’d take the idea and put a different spin on it. Instead of listing my favourite songs I will highlight a few that caught my attention for one reason or another. 2010 has seen growth and maturity materialise in me and this has allowed me to appreciate things I never before would have done including music. Diversity is the keyword of 2010 in terms of where I’m at with music. The story continues after the cut.

Alicia Keys and Eve hit the studio again to record ‘Speechless‘ as part of Swizz Beats‘ weekly Monster Monday. I haven’t been keeping up with this one.. I’ve only ever heard the Estelle track and the Dirty Money track. I like this song because it’s quite chilled and it features Eve.. I like everything that features Eve. The tunes reminds me a little bit of Alica’s earlier songs such as ‘Rock Wit U‘ one of my favorites from her library. You might not recognise his name like you recognise Spike Jonze & Hype Williams (Lutz’s mentor) but you will have no doubt seen some of his work with popular artists such as Jay-Z, Ludacris & Kanye West.
