So this is my first SWC post and I was very excited, as this is a post Dedicated to songs that were not released as official singles from an artist’s Album. The hardest part of this though has to be choosing the artist, but after a think I had to make Beyonce my first choice.

Kanye West X Jay-Z – “H.A.M.” Single Cover Art By Riccardo Tisci
posted in art & photography, fashion by GuestWhen I first heard that Kanye West and Jay-Z were coming out with a collaborative album together I just didn’t know how to process that. It was probably the equivalence of someone saying Michael Jackson and God have an album in the works. Via twitter Ye unveiled the cover art done by creative director for fashion house Givenchy; Riccardo Tisci for the first single H.A.M off the album. The album entitled “Watch The Throne” reflects its name as the cover art features lots of oversized images of symmetrical graphics of crowns, mandibles, and raging rottweilers. More after the cut.

English was one of my weaker subjects in school. I hated reading so much that I even resorted watched film adaptations of the GCSE literature books. It’s probably why I ended up with just a B. In the past year, I think I’ve probably read the most I have ever done. I read pretty much everything and anything now and have a new found appreciation for well written pieces even though I may not be able to create such pieces myself. I came across one of the best articles I’ve read in a long time, Project Runaway (no, not Runway like the reality fashion show). A amazingly well written cover story in Complex on the creation of Kanye’s latest master piece by Noah Callahan-Bever. Continues on the flipside.

I don’t know if it is ok to say I feel like I know him personally or like a proud mother when I think bout Kanye West. Yeah odd but it’s whatever. I’ve been a heavy Kanye West fan since 2004. That would make me 10 at time. Let’s set aside the math. I don’t know anyone else who’s more excited than me for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy to come out. More after cut.

I’ll be honest with ya’ll. I haven’t really been feeling their new songs as much, Chiddy‘s lyrical quality has lacks in my opinion. However he does have clever wordplay and Xaphoon‘s production skills save him. The beats are always insane! these guys have hooked up with the likes of Pharrell and Q-Tip for the upcoming album but before the album they are set to release an eight track prequel entitled ‘The Preview‘. It pretty much documents the bands crazy journey; I think it was around this time an year ago that I first discovered them and now look where they are and who they are working with. Full preview after the cut and more on the flipside.

Ok so I only started this feature last week and already I’m running late posting it. Music News Weekly is supposed to be every Sunday however i was working yesterday and I just didn’t have the time to post it but not wanting to disappoint I have made sure that I had it up as soon as possible. This weeks news features artists Kanye West, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Nelly and Will.i.am. To get your top up of music news from the past week then please read on.
No not from the grave, Rodney ‘Darkchild‘ Jenkins has announced that he is working on producing the first of many MJ albums containing unreleased material. I love the idea of more music from the greatest artist ever but in my opinion this is purely a way for Sony Records to capitalize on his legacy and make money. I know DJB featured this in his Music Weekly post but I just had to give my take on it.
