Our graduation ceremony had several guest speakers, all of which were alumni’s of the university. One in particular grabbed my attention through his art – I can’t remember his name but he was playing back sounds that he had captured through out his career. Mostly of wildlife, they were absolutely incredible. It’s definitely an art to capture such beautiful sounds, it’s what I love about creativity – you can do just about anything! possibilities are endless. Andy Morahan does just that, he’s on the hunt to capture the unmistakable cry of a peacock as it echoes reverberate around the vaulted ceilings of the cathedral.

Before you ask this has nothing to do with one those MTV programmes but this is a promotional video for a good cause, The David Cornfield Melanoma Fund, as part of Melanoma Awareness month (this month!). It’s a video of several real people addressing their own 16-year-old selves by sharing stories about their struggles with Melanoma. So with summer just around the corner remember Everybody’s Free To Wear Sunscreen.

Almost embarrassed to admit this but I’ve never had a frap before #theshame. I always go for the caramel macchiato. I’m sure you’ve all seen the Starbucks Happy Hour campaign on Facebook, well here’s the viral video to accompany it. It’s so well made! love the editing, use of sounds & colours and hand-written typography. I guess you can customize your Frappucino to suit your personal tastes, however you want it. I wSonder if they have Mango flavours. Check it out on the reverse, I promise I’ll try the frap next time!

I love women like Rachel Bilson. It’s a shame her career hasn’t blown up since her OC days, she can act unlike many in Hollywood right about now. It’s probably down to the fact she doesn’t do nude scenes. I like that, a woman with self-respect and not wanting to sell her body for success. It’s nice to see her again on TV even if it’s just for a Magnum commercial. It’s not just any other advert when its directed by Uncle Karl Lagerfeld. More on the reverse.

Here’s the advert I mentioned in the teaser post yesterday. It’s finally here and I can now speak about it! well I don’t need to say much about it as all you have to do is click ‘read more’ and watch the video. T-Mobile UK blow a huge budget on their advertising and this time they capture the Royal Couple dancing away 2 weeks with the full wedding party which includes Prince Charles and Lady Camilla. The choreographed dance routine to East17′s 1990s corny track ‘House of Love’. The 3 minute film clip can be watched on the reverse.

My favourite mobile network T-Mobile network has released an X-Factor style teaser video of their latest ad which is due to be released later this week. The teaser consists of clips from their previous epic adverts; Dance, Sing and Welcome. You can check out those again by clicking here. I was at the filming of the new advert and trust me, it’s going to be AMAZING. However that is all I can tell you for now. Well, one thing I can tell ya’ll is that the eccentric choreographer Louie Spence, of Pineapple Studios fame, has a part in this project. So I think there is going to be some dancing? Anyway, lips sealed for now. You guys will see it in less than 48 hours! Check out the teaser video. What do you think it’s going to be?

Friday night. I’m writing a blog post. It’s way too hot in my bedroom so I can’t concentrate on my dissertation work. Microsoft Word is open on the other screen (dual screen up in here!) but have I even got the energy to turn my head in that direction? nope. I’m an advertising student who has spent 90% of the past 3 years writing boring ass essays instead of creating and conjuring up ideas for campaigns. It sucks I know, so instead of writing my essays – I’ve decided to browse around looking for the best new adverts out. This latest Lucozade short film advert featuring Tinie Tempah, Travis Barker and Katie Taylor. The cinematography is crazy and as always Travis Barker‘s drum kit skills really makes this. More on the reverse.
