As some of you may or may not know, the Australian Open began last week. I’ve been keeping up to date with the tournament on twitter, and have to say that the #AusOpen is without question the most fan orientated slam. Wimbledon take note.

In Adidas Tennis’ second “The Game Is The Game” challenge, Caroline Wozniacki, Jo Tsonga, Ana Ivanovic and Gilles Simon showed their skills in a Stické Tennis match ahead of the 2012 Australian Open. This British sport, invented in the late 19th century, is played in an enclosed court. This allows the ball to bounce on walls as well as the ground. However the location, one of Melbourne’s coolest graffiti laneways, did not look 19th century at all. Watch the video after the jump.

Having brought you the Adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott collection not to long ago it’s only right that I post the shoes which is set to compliment that collection. I’m going to start off by saying the sandal/trainer things (yes i said things) what ever they are, they have GOT TO GO. If I were bare foot walking on glass and stone and someone offered me those “shoes” i’d turn them down, disgusting! The rest of the collection isn’t too bad but i’ll let you guy make your own minds up. Take a look and share your thoughts. P.S the collection is set to hit stores in February/March, so not too long to wait.

Here we have a look into the crazy world that is Adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott. Jeremy Scott has made a reputation for himself for bringing wacky designs to the table and with his latest collaboration with Adidas Originals there are no signs of his straying from this wacky formula. As with most of his collections with Adidas, i can’t see myself wearing every item however there are one or two pieces that I can rock with i.e. the white musical note tracksuit. Have a gander and let me know what you think.

Before starting university I was a full time tennis professional. Tennis was my life entirely until I was seventeen. It seems a lifetime ago now! So I guess it was no surprise when Niran asked me to write up on this video from Adidas! The event – which was filmed to promote the release of the new adiPower Barricade 7.0 tennis shoe – marks the start of a year long campaign by Adidas called “The Game is the Game“, which will challenge some of the world’s best tennis players at a series of tennis based games around some of the major tournaments of 2012. In the first event of Adidas Tennis’ “The Game is the Game” series, Andy Murray, the British No 1 and the World Number 4 tennis player, was given a challenge by his sponsors to learn Road Tennis, a street sport that originated out of Barbados, where it’s played all over the island. A cross between traditional tennis and table tennis, players chalk out a court on the street and then have a moveable net, which they can move if they need to pack quickly.

Murray was given just an hour to learn the ins and outs of the sport – by practicing against David Haye, the former World Champion British boxer, and music artist Example – before he took on Lama, the world’s best player. Check out the video above to see how Murray got on!

Funny story, Pauli has been following me on Twitter for over a year now but I never actually got to meet him till last Friday. I dismissed him for just a musician, he’s much more than that – most definitely one of London’s up and coming influencers. He certainly came across as someone passionate about what he does and making a living from just being himself. On top of being a drummer for the Gorrillaz; He is also the front man of his own band, LoveJoy, enigmatic author, photographer and a Coca Cola 2012 Future Flame. Adidas Originals spotted this young visionary and filmed his experience of the sighs and sounds of Brasil, playing sell out show over there, hanging out with Snoop Dogg and just taking in the culture. It’s made me want to go on holiday over there. More on the reverse.

Still one of my favourite collabs within fashion, Y-3 and Adidas are a perfect match! The venture are in the midst of promoting their autumn/winter collection for 2011/12 and yet again they’ve opted to go for the viral video ad strategy. This time less dark and mysterious and more creativity and focus on the clothing. It’s a great clip, more of a backdrop for a fashion show though? Not as engaging as their last one but I like the between, beneath, beyond message. Watch the film after the break.

“The collection explored variations on a theme of escape, and was inspired by books such as Jack Kerouac’s On the Road and Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild. This meant protection first and foremost, realized in exaggerated funnel-neck collars; simple modularity; voluminous, cocoon-like silhouettes; and intensive quilting on everything from hoods to coats to leggings. In classic Yohji Yamamoto fashion, prints and patches on select garments spelled out the collection’s theme, stating phrases like “Nowhere in Particular,” “Homeward Bound,” and “I’m on the Road.””

Another season another Adidas Originals by Originals collaboration with James Bond and David Beckham. The new collection is for the 2011 Fall/Winter season and as ever it attempts to bring sportwears to a new level, refined and fashion conscious sportwear is what they aim to provide. From the lookbook I personally only like two looks which are the first two looks you will see when you read on, however it may be a case that I’ll like more of the collection when I see it up close and in my hands. The collection will arrive in select Adidas Originals accounts worldwide in August. Until then, view the collection on the flipside.

Adidas Originals continue their collaboration with the Star Wars brand to bring you their autumn/winter campaign.  It has been a long while since I’ve seen a fun campaign as such, I like how simple the shoot is- nothing complicated its quite cameo, quite tongue and cheek. I love the shot with Dark Vader and the kids crossing the road, my geeky side is mildly amused. I also really like the green military style jacket with the orange detailing. If I could have had any clothing sponsorship for tennis, it would have been Stella McCartney for Adidas. Players always look elegant and stylish in her designs. I absolutely love her entire range for Adidas. And now she’s also designed the fan gear for the 2012 London Olympics. Stella has teamed up with the official sportswear partner of the Olympics, Adidas, to produce the gorgeous Team GB range, which includes emblem tees and vests in white, blue and gold, hoodies, windbreakers and bags. YIN: I’m invading Annabel’s post to share this visual masterpiece from the Adidas x TeamGB camp. Not only is the range of clothing amazing but this advertisement showcasing the new collection is spectacular. I loved the narration and the way it builds up the suspense throughout the video. Favourite bit has to be triple jumper Philips Idowu running through the smoke bomb/chalk/smokey thang. Anyone excited to see Team GB at the Olympics? We need to top the medal’s chart. You don’t know them, you don’t know their names, but you will…….

I don’t know why but I have never really checked for sneakers from the Adidas SLVR collection even though I used to be (and probably still am) a huge Adidas fanatic when it came to footwear. As we hit summer and the days get much much warmer the fashion industry turns its attentions to the following season.
