Christmas Wants

Hello all. Yin here. This is the start of something special – the very first of MANY features that we have created in the past few months. Trust me there is a LOT of my photography to exhibit on here in the coming few weeks but first we have that little big event called Christmas just around the corner. To be honest, with all the consumerism and materialistic ways of the world, we have kind of forgotten what Christmas is really about. Remind yourselves by clicking here.

Christmas is all about giving and in this modern society – we do that by giving each other gifts. So here’s our Christmas wants list – 6 from me and 6 from my brother from an Ghanaian mother, Yangatron. Hope I have contradicted myself with all that. Click through the slider above to see all our choices and read on below to see WHY we picked them and links to buy. Ladies – some of these will be perfect for your other halves.

1. Wacom.

In my younger years, the days when I was the geeky quiet kid in class, drawing was one of my favourite past times. Yep this was the pre-photoshop and ps2 days, I had nothing better to do. I want to reignite my passion for drawing and combine it with my digital art, think handscript typography. It’ll give me a chance to improve my handwriting!

2. Gaming

Assassin’s Creed Revelations – Where do I begin? I loved the last 3 games despite the repetitive gameplay. The storylines always grabbed me, especially the historical journey the game takes us on. This new game features both of the previous key characters – Ezio Auditore and Claudio …. . Can’t wait to get my hands on this!

3. Social Media Related Gifts

Come on now! I work in this industry – you expect me not to get overly excited over a gift like this? Imagine spending time with your family flicking through your Facebook history in an offline book format. Actually I don’t want my family to see my history on there, all the drunken nights, photos, wall posts, women. IMAGINE. Social memories does just that – click here.

The other two make use of everyone’s favourite app – Instagram. I’ve already ordered the Blurb Instagram for my other half – she’ll love it. Nothing better than seeing yourself in print. Just in case the internet self-implode one day, you’ll have a physical copy of your filtered gems. The last one is Printstagram which converts all your instagram photographs into a plethora of different formats from A3, A4, stickers and more.

4. My Photo On Canvas

I’ve been photographing for over 2 years now – it’s definitely one of my favourite past times now. The ability to capture a moment and frame it forever is just beautiful. In fact I invested in my first ‘professional’ camera today – the Canon 5D MKII. I can’t wait to play with it properly on the weekend. Digressed a little bit from the gift – personalised photograph on canvas. Print a photograph taken by your photographer friend on canvas and give it to he/she for Christmas. If you are the photographer, do the opposite. Give some one a few prints of your finest photographs. So who wants a LDN.365 photograph?

5. A Break Away From The City

If anyone – I don’t care who, came upto me and said ‘Niran, here’s 2 tickets to Sweden for the weekend, go and photograph some ish’. I wouldn’t think twice about snatching those tickets, a break away from London is sometimes neccesary. Especially if you work a 9-5 and have a hectic lifestyle. Sometimes you just need a change of scenery for a few days. GroupOn Getaways do some awesome deals – have a gander here.

6. Coffee Machine

I’ve wanted one of these since last year! proof. Did anyone buy it for me? Nope. This is the sole reason I resorted to drinking Relentless throughout my dissertation/essay writing time during final year at university. All your fault that I gained a few pounds from all that sugar. So who’s going to buy it for me this year? I’d probably be up as a caffeine fuelled zombie. Ideal present for those with hectic lifestyles and love working till the crack of dawn.

7. Amazon Kindle

As someone who has never read a book without being forced to by his english teacher, it’s pretty strange for me to want a Kindle. Well I’ve decided that I want to start reading and I think this will encourage me to because it will feed my materialism at the same time. Jokes aside, this is a great gift for anyone who loves to read because it is a neat looking device that does what it’s supposed to with some added bonuses that traditional books don’t have.

8. Black XS

Fragrances are very popular Christmas gifts and they’re always welcome, well any gift is welcome but you know what I mean! This was the first fragrance I ever bought and I’ve used it since, although I have tried others from time to time.

9. Cuff Links

I would like a pair of cufflinks because I have plenty of shirts to wear them with and only one pair of Cuffs. They’re a great addition to your wardrobe and a smart look anyway, plus, every man should own a pair of cufflinks. undoubtedly a great gift for ladies to get their man friend or even your Dad…or me if you fancy it.

 10. Pea Coat

Well it’s perfect for the weather and I need one…also it’s a stylish and timeless addition. This kind of coat can be worn every year and through 3 out of the 4 seasons… I would say that’s about as much function you’ll get from a form forward garment.

 11. Dumb Bells

I can honestly say I don’t have the time to fully make use of a gym membership, going to the gym twice a week on the weekends doesn’t pan out quite as well. So why not bring the gym home with a pair of dumbbells? My living room is fast becoming quite the gymnasium as I already have a very tired Treadmill so dumbbells would be a great addition.
