*cries* Welcome to adulthood. Hope you have an awesome blessed birthday! in fact I hope you’ve taken a day off to enjoy your birthday properly and I know you’re like me when it comes to birthdays ‘just another day’. This year I realised its much more than that. I’m not going to get emo and sentimental in this post, I’ll save that for another time. I actually tried to get in touch with Alexandra Burke‘s people but bleugh, I got aired nicely. Only you will know the photograph I used above, look closely haha. HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY!

Only a few more weeks left of Festival Season 2011 and we’re giving away tickets to next weekend’s Relentless Boardmasters festival in Newquay. It’s on a BEACH – that should be enough for you to book the Friday off work and head over to it. The tickets are already sold out so this is a great chance for you to win a pair of tickets. Why not escape from the city life for a weekend away whilst enjoying some GOOD music and sipping on some vitaminwater? They have been sponsoring Festivals across the nation this year. In fact I need some right now. Going to look for some dragonfruit flavour from Boots. GET IN MY BELLYAH. Details on how you can win the ticket on the other side.

Before we start, I recommend you read my post from last year – click here. Adulthood has slapped me straight in the face in the last 2 months. I believed last year was my coming of age, quite funny how wrong I was. I feel I’ve grown up a lot since then, clearly changed my perception of the world and direction. My outlook on life is a hell of a lot different. Goals? Still the same. More on the reverse.

This week has been so blessed, too blessed to be stressed by work. Started off hectic with 2 of my senior colleagues leaving to go on holiday so I’m doing a lot more work a very important account. Thursday marked the end of the best eras of my life yet – university. I was quite apprehensive about spending £250+ on the actual ceremony; tickets, suit and photograph. It was definitely worth it. After writing the first post, I realised a lot of key points that I had noted down in my head but had later forgotten to jot down on here. Thankful for all the nice comments on my last post and do let me know if it has helped get you that job. I forgot to mention the process of applying for jobs, the killer interviews and more. Right then, let’s get started.

I’ve been working full time at my first real job for almost a month now; I’m a social media executive at a marketing agency. Not an intern, an actual executive! *gasp* I know, it hit me today in a meeting with one of the big clients we work with “am I really sitting in this meeting?“ 2 months ago I was in the library…procrastinating on my essays – sudden feeling of being grown up. I definitely love it. The pressure is definitely on as I’ve been handed important accounts to work on. I’ve been blessed with this wonderful opportunity and there is no way I’m going to lose it. I wanted to pass on some knowledge on how to get that first job, it’s not an easy process as many of you know already. With unemployed graduates at an all time high – your competition is fierce. So what did I have to do to land this role? Hop on after the cut.

Failure to prepare is preparing to fail. I’m not sure who said that famous quote but I distinctly remember it from one of my secondary school classrooms. The teacher always used to warn us before a major exam and I clearly never learnt my lesson.. Yesterday morning I failed my theory test. To my defence, I only remembered I had a test at 7pm the night before and even then I was slack. I revised using one of the free iPhone apps which clearly didn’t cover all the questions that came up. Assuming my exam was at 9:30am, I got up at 7 to do some last minute cramming. However – needed to check up the location of the test centre to find out my test is at 8:30am. Screwed.
