HA. Schnitzel – the word makes me laugh for no reason. I actually thought it was some kind of dog meat :| but the dictionary tells me otherwise: A thin cutlet of veal, usually seasoned, that is dipped in batter and fried. Haha how foolish of me. MakeMine is a bespoke sandwich service that caters to your exact wants and taste buds. I stumbled across it during my second week of work back in June but haven’t been back since. Only down to the fact that I went for the same option twice in a row and the second time I wasn’t too impressed with it. Having not featured it on Yin Eats, I decided to go back and try something different. The Schnitzel.

You see how the last Yin Eats post was rather healthy? I’ve gone and ate the complete opposite, a carbs filled club sandwich from Little Portland Café. A nearby eatery which isn’t your most swanky, it’s your average bog standard cafe but located in Central London. I’ve always walked by it whilst enroute to Prét, EAT and McDonalds (once, the shame!) but never wandered in till last Thursday. I was baffled by the menu, there is so much on offer – luckily for me, my friend @yomistercee of UglyKidsClub walked in and I asked him for a recommendation. More on the reverse.

Yin Eats is back! After a long festive and first week of work madness hiatus, I’ve finally started having lunches that require to explore around the area near my work again. My Geordie colleague (@JenMeant) who is wannabe a fitness/health freak  treated me to lunch – we were initially going to go to Yo! for some sushi but that’d break the Yin’s Life rule of trying out somewhere new. After a good 10 minutes of food spot hunting, we found Yog. I’ve always been fond of frozen yoghurt but never thought I’d eat it for LUNCH. More on the reverse.

Full-frame. Canon 5D Mark II – haven’t actually taken it ‘out’ out yet for a proper photography trip, need to purchase a camera bag first. Apologies for the lack of Yin Eats in the past week, it’s been a hectic few days and the last thing to worry about was what I was going to eat for lunch so most days I ended up missing it or eating soup. Although this isn’t the first time I’ve been to Benugo, it’s the first time I’ve eaten there – usually I pass through there en-route to work to get an extra strong coffee. Yesterday, I had an early lunch meeting at 12 and no breakfast meant I needed to get something in ma belly – the Andalucian sandwich caught my attention at the till. It’s not the cheapest of sandwiches and certainly not the biggest. More on the reverse.

Woi. I’m back. Actually shot this a few days ago but haven’t had a chance to post. You’ve probably noticed the lack of posts from me in the past few days, that’s mainly down to work chaos and my girlfriend leaving the country till new year so spent time with her, as you do. So I challenged myself to explore the Great Portland St/Goodge St area for new lunch spots every 2-3 days and I came across this mini market spot near Goodge St. More on the reverse.

Introducing a new series of food posts titled Yin Eats here on Y&Y. The main concept behind Yin eats is to give you an insight into all the new places I discover in and around Central London during my lunch break. I’ve set myself the task of having lunch at a new spot every few days – I’d love to do everyday but you know with project deadline days that’s just not going to happen. I’ll photograph and um, rate the meal out of 5. Starting off with this Christmas special from Yo! Sushi; the Xmas tree sushi takeaway box. Nope, no turkey, no gravy, no mince pies but this is Japanese sushi-fied Christmas. See how after the cut.
