Imagine what the world would be like with no adults, no rules or no structure? I’m sure when we were all young, this was the ultimate dream! For a group of seemingly perfect schoolboys this appears to be the case as they crash land onto a desert island after being evacuated from a war ridden Britain. But will it be a bed of roses, or will the boys slowly realise that they have a lot of growing up to do?

I met Quincey a while back, think it was 2 years ago at the Vice Creator’s Project launch. I didn’t actually realise what he did till last year, he’s the creative strategist behind independent jewellery and apparel label, Stööki. You’re probably thinking ‘Blah, yet another London-based clothing label‘ – they’re different, like no other just by the way they present themed collections through the usage of interactive art, immersive events and social media. 2012 seems like its going to be a big year for them, teaming up with TATE Modern and Louis Vuitton to host a workshop as part of a day of immersed activities. This will include transforming the famous Turbine Hall into a UV themed silent disco with interactive art installations that rely on the use of social media, live performances and artist led workshops. This event sounds EPIC! Good to see a brand go about doing things their OWN way and not conforming to the usual ‘free drinks + music’ event. Think different, think big. More on the reverse.

This is one place EVERY Londoner must visit. I could just tweet/FB the link to the Yin’s Life post but the V&A is too good not to feature on the home page. I can’t wait to go visit again, think a LDN:Museums tour is in order! Who wants to join me? or has any suggestions of places that I should visit? Check out the Yin’s Life post here.

A day that comes around once every four years? You best believe Nike were gonna shut LDN town down & #MakeItCount. The scene was set, as the sun followed suit, Southbank became the working athletes home. Basketball courts for the dunkers, a sweet 5k for all the run clubs & for me, a spot in the media pod of the London Eye.

To kick things off, the Barbican are holding ‘Urban Classic‘, when the BBC Symphony Orchestra will team up with artists from the UK’s ‘Urban’ music hub. Artists include: Ms. Dynamite, Fazer, Devlin and Skepta who’ve all worked with the orchestra to create unique takes on some of their biggest hits. Watch behind the scenes footage of Ms. Dynamite and Fazer as they work with the orchestra after the break; Urban Classic is happening this Saturday 3rd March and tickets are going for between £10 and £20.

Radio 1′s Big Weekend is to run on a much bigger scale this year in conjunction with the 2012 Olympics. With the line-up packing the likes of Emeli Sande, Dappy (who’s ‘rockstar’ track I like), Jessie J, Labrinth, Tinnie tempah, Will-I-Am, Leona Lewis, Florence and the Machine, Wretch 32 and more; this is definitely set to be a big weekend for Hackney Marches on 23-24th June. With 6 areas of live music including the Dance Arena, 1Xtra stage, In New Music We Trust stage, Outdoor stage, BBC Introducing stage and of course the Main Stage- there will be a good mix of UK and international artists, some you may know and some you’ll need to google but if you listen to Radio 1 then you would have heard of most! Those unable to get free tickets can watch all the action live via BBC Three on the ‘red button’, Live on the Hackney Weekend website and Radio 1 will also be updating you.
