Weekly Wisdom - We are not meant to be perfect. We are meant to be whole.

So this brand reached out to me via my personal Facebook inbox and because they’re not friends with me on there, the messages get displayed under ‘other’ which means you don’t get notified. Fortunately for me, my geeky social networking addiction led me to opening up the message and checking out the collection. I was definitely impressed with what I saw and for a collection of print tees to grab my attention in such a way – they’ve got to be something special. The typography choices, layout and simplicity of the overall design is what attracted me. On top of that, they’ve got a story/reason to why they’ve started the brand which is an added bonus, more on the reverse.

We were inspired by activists like Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali and musicians like Lowkey, Immortal Technique & Public Enemy. The effect these individuals had on society (by their words, lyrics and actions) is extraordinary. We endeavored to create pieces which were fashionable, unique but at the same time being socially aware and having a rebellious edge to it.

Our creative designs are inspired by philosophers, thinkers, academics, activists, musicians and anyone who stands up for the TRUTH. With hard work, dedication, prayers and belief we will strive to create unique pieces using only the highest quality fabrics, creating timeless classics for our T.L. Soldiers.

I like that. Almost Obey-esque from the description. They don’t currently have a website, it’s under construction so you’ll have to make orders via their Facebook page here or hit them up on Twitter. In all honesty, it surprises me when a brand or anything launches without an official website. It’s standard protocol to have one, can’t take anything away from their designs though. Check out their B&W t-shirts below, more imagery of other tees on the Facebook page.
