I’ve been a bit quiet on the blog for a reason, work has been fairly hectic for the past week with this project. Future Stylist is basically a X-factor/Eurovision-esque competition to find the best up and coming stylist; a knock-out competition with the winner purely selected by ASOS facebook fans. This year, the competition is a hell of a lot bigger (mainly because I’m working on it, duh), more contestants, more prizes and much much more! The bloggers have been handpicked by the ASOS editorial team from a shortlist that I put together. The competition features a few of the best up and coming bloggers-come-stylists; including the likes of Kani from KisforKani, Audrey of BeFrassy and more. This competition is all about helping bloggers establish themselves, giving them that little boost to take the next step in their fashion careers. Some of last year’s winners have quit their day jobs to be full-time bloggers, others have gone onto becoming brand ambassadors and video directors at fashion houses. Bummer that I can’t enter but you know, conflict of interest.
ASOS Future Stylist 2012 rounds will be decided by a public vote hosted on the retailer’s 1.5 million strong Facebook page. In a first for the innovative brand, my colleague @JonT has built the app so that its fully accessible on smartphones, it’s almost like a standalone iPhone app. It gives them a full experience of the campaign. So slick.
