Eargasms

posted in music by DJB

We are back once again with the next instalment of Eargasms, again apologies for the later than usual reveal but in the words of Daley ”good things come to Those Who Wait” (as a bonus listen to Daley’s Those Who Wait here). We almost never produced Eargasms this week but then I thought that it would be a shame not to so I took over and selected all the songs myself. I’m not gonna lie, i’m not in love with every track but they are all tracks that will be lodged into my iTunes library. Head on after the cut for some musical goodness. 5 tracks to start your week off the right way.

I haven’t watched this myself but you know me, always will to share so here you go. I’ve spent the past hour trying to get rid of a STYE that has randomly appeared on my left eye. Rude. I can barely open that eye at the moment. Might have to make myself an eye patch for the commute, guess I could pull it off because it’s Halloween today?! Le sigh. My plan is to run to Selfridges and buy a pair of glasses. Tom Ford. No prescription so I can wear it just for fashion/hiding stye purposes. Ya dig?

Dope Quote #23

Beautiful. Finding your purpose is oh so key, I know so many people who have graduated but have no clue of what to do with their lives. I was blessed to know the direction I was heading in by the end of 2nd year at university. Just by knowing what I wanted to do, I used that passion looked for inspiration; reading, browsing, visiting places, talking to people in the industry, even just blogging on here and seeing the site grown has given me visions of what I want to do in the future. What I can achieve, in a way – the journey so far has just further defined my purpose. Don’t just sit behind a computer and search for ‘marketing industry jobs’ – get out and do something about it. After all word of mouth advertising is still the most effective and you are a BRAND. Happy Monday.

Not that I am due for upgrade anytime soon, but I was amongst the group of people that were slightly disappointed about the fact that Apple deprived the world of the iPhone 5, however after watching this short film- it seems the iPhone 4S isn’t that much of a cop out….well this along with the “life changing” Siri. What you see before you has been shot on an iPhone 4S in its entirety, the 3 minute film was edited using Final Cut Pro 7.

Love Christmas but hate breaking the bank? Sample sales are the place to go. The only issue is trying to find them. Only a handful are PR’d excessively, i.e. American Apparel Flea Market & Urban Outfitters. Solution: Shoparazzi iPhone App developed by the good folk over at Geocast. I actually beta tested this app a few months ago but to be honest, back then I wasn’t all too impressed by it. More on the reverse.

Holy Moly. This is absolutely insane, I have new found respect for the French after watching this video haha. I’ve never seen this type of craziness before, ‘Skyliners‘ – a group of French pioneers in highlining. An activity that is a combination of climbing, slackline and tightrope walking. I’d add sky diving and a super hero complex to that list. MADNESS! I can’t even jump from 6 steps up my staircase let alone a 20,000ft mountain. They travel from Chamonix in France to the skyscrapers of Paris and then to the incredible cliffs and fjords of Norway. Watch the video on the reverse, you’ll be blown away. Guaranteed.

I know a lot of people will be mind blown by this video, I’m not. I don’t know if anyone else has watched Microsoft‘s surface video from a few years back? They basically said it would be EVERYWHERE by this time but um, where is it? but we have seen some solid advances in recent years just look at the emergence of the tablets. I do see something like the mobile phone in this video happening in the near future. Right now all phones seem to all offer the same thing, the handset; we need something revolutionary. Siri is a step in the right direction but even that is far from new, voice recognition technology has been around for a whole minute. This video portrays how future tech will help us make better use of time, attention and strengthen relationships by getting things done at home, work and on the go.
