Weekly Wisdom - We are not meant to be perfect. We are meant to be whole.

I’m always drawn to young creative people and meeting with them to learn of their current interests and activities. I recently had the pleasure to meet the Bakery Boys. Bakery Boys are a collective of London-based creatives with a passion for music, art & fashion. Members of the collective are Ace Boogie and designers behind street wear brand Justin Hustlin – Shack & Dirty Dre. Not only do the three South Londoners involve themselves in music, they also have a clothing line called Justin Hustlin which is soon to be available exclusively through Asos.com. Not bad considering the trio have been turned down by smaller retailers. The clothing line will soon be exposed to 13 million plus unique visitors that search through the “biggest wardrobe in the world”.

The Music – Bakery Boys

The group consists of brothers Shack and Ace, and long-term primary school friend Dre. Their sound can be described as UK Hip Hop, but expect a variety of styles to be heard soon.

It’s good to hear a song like ‘Hustlin Behaviour’ come out in the UK as the UK Hip Hop scene doesn’t seem to be as prominent over here in comparison the US Hip Hop scene. The UK charts are now proudly littered with a mass of UK acts, rather than a dominated chart by the Americans, however the music is predominately the pop-euro genre.

The production will get you bopping your head and singing the chorus from the first listen. The song tells the true story about the journey the boys have taken and the grind they have been through to get where they are now, owning their own business. Shak tells us that he used to work over time and roll around with the wrong crowds, but he decided to change up his life in 03, and now works for himself.

With all the recent riots in the UK and questions over youth it’s good to hear and see such positive moves by young people from the UK. Listen to the rest of the story and watch the great first video which already sets such high standards.

The fashion – Justin Hustlin

At first look you get a sense of a similarity to Bape clothing as Justin Hustin is a 2d character fronted on t-shirts.

Here’s a bit more about the brand.

“Lifestyle inspired, Premium Streetwear created for the individual in pursuit of excellence.”

Justin Hustlin is a lifestyle inspired premium streetwear label created for individuals in the pursuit of excellence. The label is a representation of this journey and conveys a strong positive mental attitude of being all you can be in life.

The inspiration behind the label stems from this way of thinking, to which an entire conceptual 2D ‘Justin Hustlin’ world has been created, complete with unique and colourful characters with their own individual backgrounds and storylines each representing various aspects of this journey.

These characters and designs are spread out across a handful of street wear apparel, consisting of limited edition and small run pieces with attention paid to the smallest detail ranging from materials used to the packaging of each individual garment.

Below are a few examples of the latest designs and be sure to check the site for further updates on the Bakery Boys.
