Weekly Wisdom - We are not meant to be perfect. We are meant to be whole.

Is it weird that I can call Wired one of my favourite events in London even though this past Monday was only my 2nd time. On both occasions I’ve been very impressed. Kate and Duke have created a very special event, which has now been going for 3 years and plans are in place to develop it further.

The majority of the acts impressed me, but my performance of the night came from Martyna Baker. The 24-year-old soulful singer from London delivered an arresting set that left friends and myself in awe. I remember at one point turning to a friend and at the same time we both whispered, “I’ve got goose bumps”.

Hearing Martyna and talented artists like her inspires me even more to make it in the music business because I’d like to be at a stage where I can make a few calls after a performance and arrange for a meeting at a record label the next morning, with all the focus and talk on the unsigned artis with the hope of getting the artist signed.

Her vocals gave me shivers and I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before she gets a deal. Keep checking the site in the coming weeks as I hope to be interviewing the singer songwriter, as well as shooting an acoustic session with her. In the meantime have a listen to the tracks posted and let us know what you think of Ms. Baker.
