Weekly Wisdom - We are not meant to be perfect. We are meant to be whole.

So I just found pictures of my new (dream) place of employment in 2015. The 175 acre Apple “Spaceship” campus in Cupertino, California, will be the headquarters for the super-brand, set to be completed in 2015. Tech-giants Facebook and Google (as well as Skype) often share proposed plans for their new offices on design websites such as Coolhunter, and as a fan of both tech and design – I like to check out the ‘coolest’ companies and their offices – however the Apple “Spaceship” just knocked cool out of the park! Hit the jump for more photos and info

The City of Cupertino (Apple’s birthplace) today shared plans for the Apple campus which includes a Research & Development building (totalling 2.8 million sq feet), a 1,000 seat auditorium, a gym, central plant, offices and new 300,000 sq feet research facilities which 13,000 staff will be lucky enough to enjoy!

I think of Apple as one of the most innovative large companies in the world, from the format of the ‘Apple Stores‘, to the design of their technology, to the marketing of their products Apple has been at the forefront of new ideas and breaking rules – I can only dream what it would be like to work at the Research & Development headquarters of such a company.

Despite its stadium size and vast plans for high-end technology, the mayor is working with Apple to review its effect on the environment, as well as its impact on traffic in the Californian city – the building has plans to generate its own electricity on site!

“The project will come to the city council for approval in fall 2012 and could be completed by 2015.”

If you would like to find out further info, check out the video featuring Steve Jobs talking about his plans for Apple and its future with the new Headquarters. Interestingly I learned the land was bought from “shrinking” company HP, which is ironically one of Steve Jobs’ first employers (they gave him a ‘summer job’ back in the day) – ironic huh! Makes me think of Kanye West’s “Spaceship” song where he raps about his frustrations with his boring 9-5, Steve Jobs has BUILT a Spaceship ontop of his former (boring) 9-5.
