Talenthouse – Life-Changing Opportunities for the Creative Community
posted in advertising, art & photography, fashion, film, music by TaraToday I came across Talenthouse, an amazing community for creatives with talents in fashion, music, design, photography, film, animation and art. Talenthouse is all about recognising the obstacles creatives face when trying to get their work recognised and appreciated, and have created a platform and community for aspiring talent to work with some of the biggest brands, musicians and artists in the world. Talenthouse aims to take away the barriers that many face when trying to get their work out there, by providing an online community that anyone can sign up to; and opportunities and briefs that anyone can enter – effectively they are erasing the ‘It’s not what you know, but who you know’ mantra that many creatives are forced to live by.

So how does it work?
An artist of any discipline can sign up to the Talenthouse Community for free. You’ll then need to browse through the ‘Creative Invites’ for an opportunity which covers your discipline. Some example Creative Invites right now include designing art for Paul McCartney, creating a music video for Queen, getting a design job in Silicon Valley, writing lyrics for rapper The Game and designing for fashion brand, ‘Nine West‘.

All Creative Invite opportunities have specific, strict deadlines – are free to participate in – and protect the artists’ interests (do not take ownership of the artwork submitted). Once you’ve submitted your entry, the rest of the Talenthouse community can vote on their favourite submissions, finalists are those who receive the highest number of votes and then the artist or brand themselves will choose the winner. Many of the Creative Invites offer both exposure for the winning artist AND runners-up, as well as a cash prize.

Talenthouse is based in both America (L.A. and NYC) as well as the UK (London) so there are quite a broad range of opportunities available.
Sounds too good to be true right? To find out more you can check out the Talenthouse website, Talenthouse Facebook and Talenthouse Twitter page.
