I haven’t mentioned it on Y&Y before, but back in February of this year I began running. I was terrible at it; I’m still not any type of pro-athlete but I’m preparing for my first 10K soon, and a couple of half-marathons towards the end of the year. Early in my running journey I was introduced to east London running collective Run Dem Crew.

Lead by founder/musician/creative talent Charlie Dark and in partnership Nike, Run Dem Crew meet once a week to pound the pavements of London after dark. In my personal opinion, what sets them apart from other running crews is the deep-rooted sense of community. With the RDC members spanning from elite runners (called Cheetahs) to slower/new runners (the Tortoises) and a couple of categories in between, runners are supported regardless of what group they fall into.
And of course, with a name like Run Dem Crew, they’re a pretty cool bunch!
