I spent a month in my homeland of Zambia in the summer and it’s there that I became a big fan of Mike Posner due to his debut single ‘Cooler Than Me’ which always reminds me of the summer. If you told me that 6 months later I would be sitting down interviewing the American singer I would have laughed it off and said “anyway, moving on”, however this is exactly what happened recently. Below is the conversation myself and the singer had at the Lucid PR offices recently.
As of Thursday 31st of March you will all be able to register for free tickets to Radio 1’s Big Weekend. The event will be taking place in Carlisle, Cumbria on the 14th & 15th of May 2011. You can tune in to Scott Mills on Radio 1 from 6.30am on Thursday for more information.
Google‘s answer to Facebook‘s ‘like‘ button is here. It’s the first big push into the social media since the lacklustre attempt with Google Buzz. It’s basically exactly does exactly the same thing as the like button integrated directly into the world’s biggest search engine. You basically give links the ‘stamp of approval’ by +1′ing them, when you +1 something – your name becomes publicly associated with that link in searches, ads and all across the internet. One of my best? I really like both the 365 photographs that have gone up today, allow me for missing one yesterday. My brain/body just wouldn’t allow me to post anything yesterday, it was fried. Now I’m back and better than ever. However I feel I should go sleep and fix my sleeping pattern. This is the Imperial War Museum, the architecture is superb. I went here when I was in year 9 but to be honest, it was dry. Nothing really interested me, I’m not really fussed about the World Wars as we were overloaded with information about it in history classes in secondary school. Did they ever teach you about the British Empire? the colonisation of nations such as my motherland? NO. I’m not bitter about it, I just feel children should be taught about it in school.

Hello everyone. Guess who’s back after a day’s hiatus, I have good reason for it. I spent all night in the library finishing off an essay, came home looking forward to sleep when I receive an email with details about my new MacBook Pro‘s delivery tracking. It was due to arrive at any time and there was NO WAY I was going to miss it. However I was a walking zombie for most part of the day till I went to bed at 8pm, now it’s 4am and I’m wide awake. FML? I always see this fancy apartment block on the way to Central from LCC, always wondered how much the rentals cost. The prices vary from £150-230 per night and if you’re looking to buy an apartment, it may set you back upto £400,000. My pockets aren’t quite deep enough.

Another one fro the R&B vault, todays throwback song is dedicated to R&B and Jazz singer Chante Moore for her old school classic “Straight Up“. The song was released in 2000 around the teime when I would say R&B had reached its peak, although ‘Straight Up’ performed quite poorly in the charts (like most good songs!!) its a great tune that I was happy to rediscover. R&B today or what is called R&B today doesn’t compare to these old school ones here! This is the first time I have seen the video for this! Check it out after the cut.

So I was on the morbid tube journey toward central today and picked up the metro..as you do; I read that soon the beat of my heart will be powering my iPod… Well I don’t really know what to say about that to be honest- it’s something that could revolutionize technology, but it sounds kind of scary no? Apparently it’s called ‘nanogeneration’ and it has already been used to power LCD displays and transmit radio signals! Read the full article after the cut.
