It’s been a good few months since our last fashion review. Many apologies for the slacking, I’m not going to use the final year at university excuse as we can ALWAYS make time. Any who, many of you lot probably haven’t heard of Pelé Sports but I’m 100% sure most have heard of Brazilian football legend, Pelé. The brand have decided to venture into fashion/streetwear like many sportswear companies do nowadays, it’s becoming a necessity. Review, photos and more on the reverse.

Brief Brand History
Although Pelé hasn’t kicked a football for a good 30 plus years now, his remarkable contribution to the game still continues and now in the form of a football inspired sportswear label. The brand philosophy is an amalgamation of the legendary football player’s enthusiasm for playing the beautiful game and the collection features products designed to satisfy those who are both fashion-minded and share that love for the game.
The joy in play, regardless of who you are, and where and how you play. This is also based on Pelé’s personal desire to give something back to football and footballers.
The three stars on the shirts stand for the three world cups that Pelé won for Brazil. They’re incorporated in the Pelé Story fashion collection, which aims to tell the story of Pelé with every clothing item, through symbols and marks, blended into the overall design. Pelé Sports also carries a “street” collection called Pelada, which means “naked” in Portuguese and represents street football and football culture, stripped down to the bare basics.
The Clothes
An incredibly rare photograph of me smiling. This only happens once every blue moon.
Yang’s thoughts
The quality of the clothing is it’s selling point, made with premium cotton, you won’t find sports wear of this kind of quality anywhere. Not to mention the minimal detailing on each garment.

The navy blue jumper I’m wearing is plain with #10 embroidered in the back. On the front is the Pelé Sports logo of 3 yellow stars. Navy and yellow is a great combination in this case, the yellow on the dark background really draws your eye to the logo. I wore the jumper with indigo jeans and mid brown fcuk boots, a colour palette of yellow, navy and brown makes for an army inspired look. Its sports wear that’s easy to dress up.

In the other photo I’m wearing the grey Pelé Sports hoody, again a really plain garment with smooth texture and minimal detailing- the logo. I wore the hoody with a maroon v-neck t-shirt, indigo jeans and the fcuk boots. The colour palette for this look inspires quite a casual for a relaxed everyday look.
Everything from the fit down to the stitching is carefully made; the fit is loose but doesn’t look “boxy” like some other sports wear brands. Its an appropriate cross between casual and sporty that can be dressed up, however potential to dress it up is not infinite as You couldn’t necessarily wear the clothing with smart clothes. For example if I wore a smart shirt underneath the jumper…it would look odd because of the shape.

I’m only going to echo Yang’s thoughts on his clothing with the sweatshirt I was wearing. At first I was a little hesitant to rock the sweatshirt as I was worried that it wouldn’t fit into my current style. As the garment is quite plain with simple large intricate star detailing on the sleeves, it worked well with the rest of my ensemble; khaki chinos, navy blue desert boots and a flat cap. The first thing that impressed me was the quality of the cotton and brushed polyester fleece, it will most certainly keep you warm in the London breeze.
