Weekly Wisdom - We are not meant to be perfect. We are meant to be whole.

At one point in your life, you had to have owned a pair of Converse. I know with my big feet, these were the shoes my mum could buy be that kept me in the ‘hip’ and ‘cool’ zone without making me look too much like a clown and without putting me in the ‘look at her Nike shoes, they’re so busted’ zone either. Ahhh, the greatness of Converse. So, as well as saving me from being bullied, Converse is playing superman to the well known and pretty popular venue, The 100 club, in London. The club, that brings a mixture of talent and just a damn basic love for music, was said to be closing due to ‘rocketing overheads’, and though many people campaigned against the demise of a club that would stir memories from 1942 (wooooah baby), it seemed as if there was nothing that could be done.

Is it a bird? NO. Is it a plane? NO. Is it a flying shoe? YES. Yes it is.

Converse simply decided that they weren’t going to let such a loved place drop to the fiery pits of nonexistent and decided to do all the could to keep the love of music alive. Here’s what they had to say about it:

“We at Converse are very excited about our new partnership with the legendary 100 Club in London. Converse’s commitment to being a catalyst for creativity is at the heart of the brand and we are dedicated to championing and supporting artists, fans, the music scene, venues and the experience. Converse and the 100 Club both share a love for music and this partnership is a great opportunity to reunite the 100 Club with a generation who experienced history inside its walls, as well as introduce it to a new generation with a vow to bring the best in music to its legendary stage.”

This isn’t just going to be a sponsorship with Converse, they plan to be very hands on with the regeneration of the club; without taking away the jazzy vibe that it’s known and loved for. They want to include new acts and possible a variety of new promoters and nights; either way, 100 Club is going to come back bigger and badder than it already is – and with the help of some big and bad shoes.
