Weekly Wisdom - We are not meant to be perfect. We are meant to be whole.

Though this is one of my favourite posts to write I have been slacking so much that I even forgot I ever created this series. Due to my considerable laziness I have decided that this week will be dedicated to Shoulda Woulda Coulda. Every day this week will see a SWC post, this to make up for all the weeks that have gone by without me posting it. Today’s SWC features R&B legend and queen of soul Mary J Blige.

Take a listen to these three tracks that I have assembled for you listening pleasure. Two have been taken from her 8th studio album Growing Pains while the other is place on the critically acclaimed album The Breakthrough.

Shake Down

This song is a smooth grove which features fellow R&B superstar Usher Raymond. Written by Blige herself along with The-Dream, Jazze Pha and Tricky Stewart. A true duet which sees each singer overlapping each other and singing intermittently rather than simultaneously reminiscent of the Keyshia Cole and Monica sang together on their duet ‘Trust’

Work In Progress (Growing Pains)

Written and produced by Ne-Yo and Charles Harmony. A nice slow jam which houses simple vocals. No over singing and exaggeration, just nice simple vocals which suit the instrumental perfectly.
