Bought my first pair of converses at the start of university and have pretty much lived in them ever since! For me they’re a necessity as the most reliable mode of transport around London is your own two feet! If you use the tube you have to go down escalators only to then have to go up stairs. I avoid buses at all costs but sometimes there is no other option and I’ll end up chasing after one like a lunatic. So you definitely need a comfortable and reliable pair of shoes that can take a beating and converses are an affordable fail-safe!

Met up with a friend today and decided to pop into Selfridges to kill some time before we went to the cinema, and on the men’s floor opposite the trainer section is a place where you can get your converses customised!! How awesome is that!! Slightly gutted that I didn’t know about this as I finally bought a new pair yesterday. Damn it!
Kiran Gobin who is an up and coming designer, works as one of the ‘maestros’ and would be the one who edits the images you’ve chosen to go on your customised converses. He said that there are only three places in the world where you can ink your converses. Selfridges was added to this list in November and although the contract finishes in March it’s looking likely that they will stay for longer. Too right!
