I want to live in one of the flats that you can see on the far right. The building = amazing, love the slope – like a modern Marrakech (remember Starwars?). The location is absolutely perfect, it’s located just opposite Russell Square underground station which is walking distance from Holborn and the rest of Central London. The shopping centre has good mix of shops from FCUK to Waitrose to Office. The place is also filled with a plethora of food spots too, for more info read here. I love this city – 200 DAYS OF LDN.365.

I’m not much of drinker, well I don’t even drink any more but when I used to drink, it certainly wasn’t at a pub. I get bored in pubs, there’s just something about them that I don’t like so I would probably be playing on my phone or tweeting how lame it is. English folktronica musician, James Yull on the other hand makes use of his talent and plays music with Guiness glasses. Now I don’t know how he manages to remix Jingle Bells into a song that most people would dance to after a few pints of beer and a packet of crisps. Peep the video on the flipside.

Leo Bridle & Ben Thomas are both Film graduate students from Bournemouth Arts Institute and for their final year project they produced this film appropriately called ‘Train of Thought‘. These guys created all this animation by hand and not with CGI, they also said the entire process took 9 whole months from the storyboards right down to the editing. This video is simply amazing, It takes a lot of time, effort and skill to be able to produce something like this so yeah its awesome! Enjoy the video after the cut, I’ve even added the ‘making of’ which documents the whole process.

2010 was a great year for many artists. Some new and some old. From Lady Gaga to Justin Bieber, this year was definitely dominated by Pop music. Some artists who were more renowned for other genres were now moving into the pop genre to great success. You only have to look at Usher for example to see how well the switch could work for an artist.

We have all seen the preview and the stills from the video shoot and now the long awaited and highly anticipated visuals to the well received ‘Monster’ taken from Kanye West‘s album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy has been released. The hype and hysteria surrounds the release of this video may have bumped up my expectations a little too high because if I’m honest the video left much to be desired. Not his best but probably not his worst video, check it out for yourself after the jump.

Everyone rolls out a “top for…” list as the end of the year draws close. Instead of merely reeling off some artists on everyone’s “one-to-watch” lists, instead I’ll put on my psychic headwrap, rub my macbook’s mouse (the crystal ball of digital clairvoyants) and make some predictions about the British music scene in 2011. Check out my 11 music musings for 2011 after the cut.
