Weekly Wisdom - We are not meant to be perfect. We are meant to be whole.

Shoulda Woulda Coulda is back and this time I have decided to focus this week’s edition on the talents of one particular artist. I have put together three songs from talented entertainer Chris Brown that I feel could and would have been hugely successful. Two songs are tracks Chris appears as a guest feature and the other is indeed fully fledged Chris brown track. Check them out on the flipside.

Flo Rida (feat. Chris Brown) – Sweat

First up I have the Chris Brown assisted track ‘Sweat’ which was supposed to be included on Flo Rida’s sophomore album R.O.O.T.S. Due to the infamous incident which involved Brown and his then girlfriend Rihanna, the decision was taken by Flo Rida and his camp not to include the record on the album.

Do I think it was right to remove the track from the album? I’m not sure. I understand why it wasn’t selected as a single release at that time and in hindsight it wouldn’t have done well in the charts considering radio stations stopped playing Brown’s tracks however excluding it from the whole album could be considered a little extreme.

As he didn’t place the song on his sophomore album I do think that it could have been placed on his third studio album. I have to be honest I am not a huge fan of Mr Rida’s music. I feel that his flow is repetitive and that he sounds and raps the same way over every beat. His only saving grace is the fact that he has a guest feature on nearly if not all of his released singles to date. In my opinion It is these guest features with their infections hooks that have enabled Flo Rida to gain the success he has had on the charts and certainly with mainstream radio air time.

Moving back to the track ‘Sweat’ is a dope track with a good beat and enjoyable hook. Chris Brown delivers the energy the song needs and without his contribution I don’t believe the song would be as good. Preview the track below and let me know what you think.

Rihanna (feat. Chris Brown) – Bad Girl

Yes it is the collaboration that would set the music industry on fire should they get together again and do a track in the future, however this collaboration was done before the fist hit the face. The song is taken from soundtrack of the 2009 movie Confessions Of A Shopaholic however the final version of the track is Chris Brown less once again due to that infamous night.

The track sees Chris displaying his emcee skills rather than his vocal prowess that we have become accustomed to. Personally I think that the beat, which was produced by Polow Da Don, is fire and it offers that club feeling immediately. For a soundtrack song I feel that this song is just way too strong and could/should have been considered for Rihanna’s fourth album Rated R.

Chris Brown  – Like A Virgin Again

The final track I have for your listening pleasure is a track taken from Browns most recent foray into the music industry. The songs is from his mixtape Fan Of A Fan which he collaborated with Young Money affiliate Tyga.

The mixtape as a whole is a very solid body of work and could have easily sold well in the charts had it not been given out for free. The fact that Deuces, which also appears on the LP, reached #1 is testament to that statement.

The mixtape is relatively fresh still and new singles are being released from it think ‘Ain’t Thinkin Bout You’ ft Bow Wow. So there is still time for this particular track to get single treatment however due to the fact Brown is already focusing on his next album I think that it is highly unlikely.

‘Like A Virgin Again’ for me is probably Brown’s best slow jam to date (shows growth and maturity) and if the material from Fan Of A Fan is anything to go by then his next album F.A.M.E is sure to be a winner. It has been a torrid time for him over the last year or so and his music career almost got flushed down the drain with one stupid act of madness but it shows strength in character to be able to come back from adversity and become stronger. 2011 come prove to be a very good year for Brown at the very least I hope he is back to being happy within himself.
