It’s that time again folks where we take you on a trip down memory lane. For today’s journey I thought it would be nice to do a casual jump through four different decades. 1 song from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and Naughties will be selected for your listening pleasure. If y’all are into your urban music then you will remember these tracks if not the you have the pleasure of hearing them for the first time, in any event I hope you enjoy.

The Naughties
As Olive quite rightly pointed out September 13th was the 14th anniversary of Tupac Shakur untimely death (read her post here). Although he passed in 1996 his music and legend has lived on long beyond this date. To commemorate the ten year anniversary of his death Amaru Entertainment and Interscope Records released the appropriately Pac’s Life one of many posthumous albums.
The lead single from this album was of the same name and featured guest vocal from Ashanti and T.I. As it is the week of his anniversary i thought i would be only right that we to remember his talent. Enjoy!
The 90’s
You can not think or talk about music in the 90’s without mentioning Lauryn Hill. She personifies what it means to be a true artist that dosen’t have to conform in order to sell records but instead encourage people to get with what it is you are saying and hope that they connect on a deeper level that just a good beat that we can dance to.
Truly one of my favourite songs of all time Ex Factor is raw emotion with a simple video that complments it so well.
The 80’s
Janet Jackson has had a successful music career to date a career which started in the 80’s. The Pleasure Principle is one of her most recogniseable songs not only because its a good song but for ther dance moves in the video. My friend was once so obsessed with this video that she learnt the whole dance routine and proceeded to perform it infront of me lol.
The 70’s
Who can forget the disco era. Although I want born during this time my musical knowledge has no concept of time and this I one of many songs that I love from this period of time. Evelyn ‘Champaign’ King may not of reigned supreme back in those days but she did make a few classics, Shame being one of them. It’s a shame they don’t make music like they used to (excuse the pun)
