Weekly Wisdom - Plant your seed in the ground, water it and believe.

Early last week I received an email from CIRCUS bookazine, a German publication asking if we were available for an interview. My initial reaction before replying was like this (click). It was definitely a surprise for us to be asked, flattering! and of course we responded yes. To be honest I was quite nervous before Kristine from CIRCUS hit us up via Skype to conduct the interview but then realised I just have to be myself and it should be fine. More after the cut.

I was always the shy kid back in High School, speaking in front of the class was one of my many weaknesses back then. In fact it still is, I hate presentations but I’m working on it. Anyway peep an excerpt from the interview below and a link to the full one.

Niran is adamant that, “If I meet someone in real life who reads the blog, I’d want them to realise that it’s really me and my voice. Everything is genuine.” As a trained writer, Ernest can only agree. And the claims about being egotistical? “Well,” he says, “I think as a blogger you really need a certain sense of self-confidence behind your opinion, but we’re really, really humble.” After all, everyone has to start somewhere. “At first it was sort of intimidating approaching people just to have a chat, you really need to have that confidence. Or alcohol,” Niran says.

Major props to Kristine!

More on the Bookazine itself –

When worlds collide, something new is born: From the ultimate clash between online and print came CIRCUS – the very first international blogger bookazine. The avant-garde journalists of the internet contribute bi-annually to a new, monothematic issue of the CIRCUS series. They write in their mother tongue about the questions that burn inside them and they show us the world as they see it through their words, photos and illustrations.

Everything they create is beautifully orchestrated by the editorial team of Herznote Publishing and combined in an original print product: CIRCUS bookazines combine the best elements of two classics. They are timeless, monothematic and as valuable as a book, but as diverse and lively as a magazine.

CIRCUS bookazines break so many publishing norms, you would want to tell your mum about it.
