As ambassador-at-large for the Caribbean nation Wyclef has placed his bid to be Haitian president. Despite the fact he emigrated to Brooklyn at the age of 9 his love for his homeland has always been apparent. He is seeking a 5 year term to help rebuild the corrupted and recently devastated country giving Haitians hope for a better future.

Wyclef helped tremendously to raise money for Haitian relief during the most intense moments after the earthquake that killed over 300,000 people. His celebrity status pushed the country and its political problems into the limelight, shedding light on just how poor and corrupted the country is, was and will remain if somebody doesn’t make a change. Haiti is most definitely enslaved by debt. It seems Obama’s ‘change’ values haven’t quite reached the shores of Haiti just yet.
What do you think? Do you think Wyclef should become President of Haiti? There have been mixed reviews on whether a world wide entertainer has the makings of a president. I personally think that he has the right ideas and his heart is in the right place but I’m not quite sure he could be a politician.
Currently in hiding lets hope Wyclef doesn’t get assassinated by Saturday.
Just to add: Why did Wyclef tell everybody he’s 37 years old when he is actually 40?
