Long Day

posted in yin&yang by Yin

I know I promised not to do the whole ‘Dear Diary‘ type ish but I have to blog the day I had. Today was a long and tiring as hell but I loved every minute. More after the cut.

I’m not used to these 9:30 – 18:30 days, in fact I finished at 19:00 as I was helping out with a design for a presentation that’s due tomorrow. I’ve learnt so much today – from brainstorming methods, to identifying and profiling target audiences and much much more.

Yesterday was a small teaser of what I had to do, today I had much more work thrown at me. I was meant to originally design a blog for a well known Mobile Network provider but another project popped up. We had to have a quick brainstorm session before getting given our individual jobs. My one consisted of designing the facebook fan page mock-ups and designing is never a drag for me, always fun. The proposal presentation to the client is  due at 10am tomorrow just so you know. My boss/team’s account director is still at the office working on the powerpoint ppt.

Today was a real glimpse into what working in the creative industry is like – deadlines, deadlines, deadlines and working your ass off to get everything done on time. Late hours is common in the Creative Industry apparently so I better get used to it.

I have a few tasks to do tomorrow and I’m looking forward to it despite the early start. I’m taking everyday as it comes and honestly enjoying it. I know my blog writing time will be limited but it’s understandable. As you can see I have a dual screen at work where I spent most of my day. Now I’m at home, similar setup (photo below) and blogging away. I need to be in bed in 20 minutes.

Here’s a few photos from the near-enough empty office at 7pm:

Good night.
