Remember Jay? my brother from a white mother, well he’s spent the past few months working hard on his clothing company Dead Giraffe. As you may already know, Jay is a post emo-scene kid – you know the type who rocked his sister’s jeans. Well he’s grown up and switched up his style a fair bit to create a brand that caters for ‘streetwear/skater kid, cross over kinda vibe’ – his words. The site launches at midnight on his birthday (and mine!). Photos and more insight into the brand after the cut.

Behind The Brand
I (Jay) Was sitting in my university halls one night unable to go out on the town with my friends because I had spent all my student loan away on pogs, sherbet and fizzy pop so I set about to designing some sick threads of the highest awesomeness and it was there and then that Dead Giraffe was created; in the most unlikely of places, room 328 of Kimber Student Halls of Residence but it is there that it started and it has been a whirl wind adventure even since then.
I then spent the next several months locked away in my room, sitting at the computer doing what all teenage boys do…designing some sexy art work that would one day grace your equally as sexy bodies.
After that it is really just a mixture of begging for money, taking out credit cards I knew I would not be able to pay back unless DG really took off (here’s to hoping) helps from friends and some ever so nifty screen printers up north.
