I’m really late with this but that’s mainly due to the lack of good songs in the past week. I’ve only got around 15 songs for ya’ll. Starting off with a dope song off Curren$y‘s upcoming album featuring Mos Def and Jay Electronica. You can’t go wrong when you have the likes of those 2 on the track, songs after the cut.

Real Hip-Hop from the beat to the lyrical quality. So fucking dope. I need this ish in CDQ.
Curren$y - The Day (feat. Mos Def & Jay Electronica) – Link
Same song title for a track off the Roots album and that tune is just as dope.
Bonus cut: The Roots - The Day (feat. Blu, Phonte, Patty Crash) – Link
‘I got a new chick, She ain’t you, She Paula Patton thick, She gives me Dejavu.’ For those wondering that’s Robin Thicke’s actress wife in the photo above, I felt a photo of her would liven up the post a fair bit. God dayum. A new song from her husband leaked a few hours ago, I have no clue whether it’s a new single/unreleased track but it’s smooth, classic Robin. The tracks produced by the Neptunes.
Robin Thické - My Life – Link
Next up, I’m showing some love for UK artists for a change. Peckham-born MC Giggs dropped his sophomore album last week and the hype for it around these parts have been crazy. I thought I’d give it a listen after my twitterfeed was clogged up with tweets saying how good it was. It’s actually not bad for a grime artist, he’s stayed true to his style and hasn’t sold out like the rest of them. *cough*
Giggs - Let ‘Em Ave It – Link, Bus Commercial – Link, The Way It Is – Link
Next up a nice collaboration track between the Roots and BET Humanitarian award winner, John Legend.
The Roots & John Legend – Our Generation – Link
The-Dream dropped his latest album last week and as always it’s R&B to the fullest. He doesn’t sway away from the high-pitched falsettos so there isn’t really much difference between this and his last 2 albums. Here are my 2 favourite songs off the album, Nikki is getting massive airplay on my iTunes. It’s actually a part 2 for one of the tracks off his first album.
The-Dream - F.I.L.A – Link, Nikki Pt.2 – Link, Yamaha – Link
Aloe Blacc‘s second single dropped earlier this week. It’s a different direction to his first single, Aloe takes on the Velvet Underground classic.
Aloe Blacc - Femme Fatale – Link
